Raze questions

Post by stlouis12 »

Hey everyone, I just tried Raze yesterday for the first time and have to say I like it, but have some questions I'm having a hard time finding answers to, mainly around loading HRP's that I had in eduke, but I guess mods in general maybe.

What I like about raze is the ability to run multiple games from one place, and I've figured out how to load the Duke3d hrp by creating a mods folder and adding the following to my raze ini to load it. It took me long enough to figure this out as the info was buried in a bug/question on github here

Code: Select all

[Duke.Autoload]
Path=$PROGDIR/mods/duke3d_hrp.zip
What I'm struggling with here, is if I wanted to play Duke it out in DC which has it's own HRP, I can't figure out how to load mods specifically for one grp file. I found an example in this thread suggesting which suggests something like this

Code: Select all

[Duke.DukeDC.Autoload]
Path=mods/dukedc_midi.pk3
and so I added a Duke.DukeDC.Autoload entry like the following which I thought would work

Code: Select all

[Duke.Autoload]
Path=$PROGDIR/mods/duke3d_hrp.zip

[Duke.DukeDC.Autoload]
Path=$PROGDIR/mods/dukedc_hrp.zip
Now while it does look to me like it finds it according to the log, I don't think its working as expected as I'm seeing the old tree sprites right on the first level which should be replaced by that extra hrp.

Code: Select all

The filter is hierarchial.

Duke.Autoload loads for all Duke configurations. If you want something just for the base game, name the section [Duke.Duke.Autoload]

okay, I'll give that a try. Is there a list of those known names somewhere?

I assume [Duke.NWinter.Autoload] is valid for nuclear winter, at least that's my guess based on the save folder I see being named Duke.NWinter, but is there somewhere I can find the rest maybe? The wiki is a bit sparse
