Weapon mods and TCs with female characters

Post by RedClairefield »

While I'm waiting for the release of Ion Maiden and also because every single classic FPS throwback game (Dusk, Project Warlock, etc.) refuses to have female characters I thought it'd be nice to make a list of DOOM mods that have female protagonists available and/or skins+voicepacks that work with other mods.

I only know of a handful, so if you know of something let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Weapon mods/TCs exclusively with females: Weapon mods/TCs with optional female characters: Huge conversions (may not be compatible with other mods): Skins:

Diaz
Nun with a gun
Project Einherjar
Midgard Outlaw
Rise of the Wool Ball
Cyberrunner
Metroid: Dreadnought (And R4L's Metroid Dreadnought Overhaul)

Those are all the mods I can remember right now.

EDIT:
Rebel Rumble also features a female protagonist.

MetaDoom has alternate mugshots and player sounds for all three gender options available in Player Options. DrPySpy made all the new mugshot graphics in, like, a day, which is frankly ridiculous because they're real good.

There was one ages ago called Jessica Jet (I might be spelling it wrong). Should be a forum thread somewhere.

Temple of the Lizard Men 4. I think the third installment of the series has it too, but I'm not quite sure.

I see that LilWhiteMouse's "Cammy" has had a mention, but other mods by her also featured female protagonists. "Chosen" certainly did, I think "Bittersweet" also did. I think the "Chibi Rebellion" protagonist was also female.

And (though I don't recall if there were any player sprites) presumably Queen's Crusade's titular character is the player character...

Thanks, i haven't did it before for any other reason than... it's kinda hard to "create" a woman in Doom sprites!

Most arm and hands sprites are full of veins, hair, muscles and i didn't wanted to make Stella (the character) look like Baratus. In the "lore" she's a scientist who volunteers to fight against the insects, and she knows how to handle guns. For balance reasons, and not any other, she has the lowest damage, more than standard health and normal speed, but the highest accuracy.

=)

I've noticed a handful of these actually have broken links in their forum posts and I had to go digging to test the mods. Some things, like Cyber Runner, aren't fully compatible with current versions of GZDoom either.

I'm still open to suggestions on other mods that have female protagonists in some capacity, but also I wonder if I should put the effort into formatting the first post a bit better and perhaps categorizing things differently?
