**UPDATE** No other game altering mods will be used to base this off of. I see now how stupid and lazy that decision was. That being said, this will be built from the ground up.


Hello all. I am currently doing some dev work on a new mod. I am working with Mike from Cinemassacre to get this mod made. I have recently been trying to recruit some people to help me get this done. As anyoine knows who has tried or has made a big mod, it can be quite the job to do alone. I am looking for someone who can do some weapon sprite work. And possibly some monster sprite work. I have begun map making for this and have begun tweaking menus and other small aspects just to get a feel for how it will look in the end. I have been posting everywhere trying to find the right people. I either get no response, get one response asking about it, then no other reply or just crickets. This is a legit mod that I am pouring my heart into. I am not creating junk nor do I wish to do so. If you would like to be a part of this project, that will be seen by millions, please, leave a reply or drop me an email with any questions.
MUST have mod knoweldge. I hope to finally hear from someone that fits the bill.

Project Cinemassacre outline v1

The fuckin story, James finds himself transformed into
the world of DOOM. Has to become the NERD in order to fight his way out of it and back to reality,
using all the props the Nerd is known for(outlined below) This happens after drinking too much, (again)
Is it a dream? is it real? The usual scenerio.
Mod begins in the Nerd Room.

"Anger Meter" When meter is full, The power glove comes out and all hell breaks lose *insert "FUUUUUUUUUUUCK" from avgn vid

**If possible, being it can be scripted properly(Final ideas of cuts being worked out)

Thanks so much!, being new here, I am having issues navigating, but I am getting it. I hope to find some team members. I am so overwhelmed doing all this alone. Between map design, sfx, weapons, textures, scripting, etc....Yeah lol. SOMEONE HELP! LOL

Well, by the looks of it, obviously it won't be a paid game, and as a fan of the nerd myself, i like the idea. If you would like a weapon spriter (which is something you probably have plenty of), you can check my resources thread, i'll get the link.

Actually, I have posted everywhere. No one seems interested or thinks im full of shit or something. You are the first serious person to respond. If you can make some sprites, you got the gig man. and will be fully credited. I need a NES Zapper, Super Scope 6 (have an awesome alt fire script a guy made for it) and a Konami Laser Scope HUD among some other sprites needed. If this is something you can do and want to, let me know

PS, i really like your work. I feel you would be perfect for this project. I was trying to find fellow fans. To me, i love the nerd and cinemassacre and am trying to produce something great. I'm a fan of Cinemassacre and AVGN too, but generally if you wish to recruit people it would help if you'd give out some details. Like the general outlines and features of the project.

-What's the theme/story in this game, are we playing as the Nerd?
-Gameplay style (like adding elements not part in original Doom; hub progression, conversations, in-game cutscenes, scripting).
-Do you mix Doom monsters and decorations with new, or completely new graphics?
-Length of the campaign (amount of maps), episodic vs. one stream of maps vs. Hub-structured as in Hexen?

Expecting people to just blindly hop in without giving any details about project isn't probably the best way to get responses. Check out the OP's of other mods in this sub-forum if you don't get what I mean.

I hope I didn't leave any sour tastes with my previous bad and lazy decision making, but thats why I am here. Sometimes I need people to save me from myself.

There are a lot of things to go over. In a nut shell, James has to become the "Nerd" character he plays in order to fight his way out of "doom land" or what have you. There will be new monsters, new weapons. Cut scenes, yeah if I can find someone willing.The reason I haven't posted all the tiny details is simply because I have not worked them out to there entirety. Thats where the "team" comes in, people who wish to help that can help sort this out and turn it into something great. If I was to make it by myself, it would just be some weapon sprites and a few maps, but I want more than that. I have a rough outline of what I am trying to achieve. and I will post it at the end of this reply. I do appreciate your input on this matter. As far as "blindly" hopping in, I said, feel free to ask questions or even email me with any inquiries. Rather or not people chose to do so, that's on them.

i know what I CAN do with DooM, but I don't know what every one ELSE can do with DooM. Thats why the details haven't been finalized and I have been cryptic. I've been awake all night working on recruiting people and my brain is mush. So I hope I didn't forget anything. I hope this clears some things up.

I did recruit a "weapons" guy last night whom is going to make some weapon sprites. If he pans out, and I haev no reason to see why he wouldn't, then the weapons are pretty much covered unless someone else just wants to make something.

I am going to put together a formal Outline, as I should have done from the get go

Wait what, you're gonna base this upon Brutal Doom? Good luck with that. :roll:

AFAIK it's notoriously brutal not only visually, but using gross hacks in scripting and editing side too. Also, the original author caused so much controversy and downright disgust among community that he eventually got banned from several Doom related forums. I wonder if that's partially causing that lukewarm reception you mentioned...
