The Projects forums are only for projects. If you are asking questions about a project, either find that project's thread, or start a thread in the General section instead.
DooMwinia aims to bring the best of both worlds together as a tremendous project (and consequently only named DooMwinia because it's using GZDoom) involving all possible features from both games.

Spoiler: Post-Darwinia Story
Dr. Sepulveda, creator of the Darwinian world, had his project saved by a zealous reporter who wanted to get an inside scoop of Darwinia before it went live. He will never forget that day when the virus first exploded out of the spam mail the Darwinians had downloaded from his inbox after they realigned a trunk portal to the soul repository.
(Introducing a bit of my own headcanon based on two popular mods for it: Insurrection + Enemy Within)
Soon after, a CIA operative known as Dr. Greenbrae, from Incident Record "Insurrection", attempted to transfer the entirety of Darwinia out from Dr. Sepulveda's control and into his own server by stealing everything and destroying his infrastructure. Dr. Sepulveda fought fire with fire by contact the associate who was pulling the strings for Greenbrae directly and informed him of Greenbrae's true agenda. Greenbrae and Sepulveda have long been enemies, with Greenbrae disguising the truth of 'assisting with Darwinian freedom' to outright stealing the entirety of Darwinia for himself. The associate turned and helped Sepulveda, shutting Greenbrae out -- yet another random person to save Darwinia. Twice. What happened with Greenbrae and his associate is unknown. However, Sepulveda had to turn to using some of the virus he had captured during the original game's events in order to slow Greenbrae's progress, which caused some damage to the infrastructure as it was volatile and still not fully ready for use as a defense tool.

Thus, sometime later, Sepulveda came into contact with the original protagonist and showed him the damage caused by the virus, and introduced him to Prometheus during Incident Record "Enemy Within". Prometheus is the very first Darwinian Sepulveda created. Sepulveda and the protagonist worked to clean up the damage done to different parts of the world, but soon had to split apart contact as the virus was wreaking having on their communications. Sepulveda entrusted Prometheus with directions to guide the protagonist into 'fixing' it before going off to tackle a different section of Darwinia. Over time, Prometheus revealed his disagreements and plans to actually incorporate the virus while clearing out the excess. Sepulveda managed to pull the protagonist mid-travel from one trunk port to another, sending a warning to his terminal that Prometheus was up to something, and to keep a close eye on him. Sure enough, Prometheus tricked the protagonist into giving the AI total control of the system, and blocked both Sepulveda's and the protagonist's connections.
Prometheus then proceeded to crash several stock markets and destroy several banking infrastructures with the aid of his fellow Darwinians while Sepulveda and co. hacked their way back into the server. The damage to the world was greatly increasing due to Prometheus injecting the virus code into the very bedrock of Darwinia, which had also allowed Sepulveda to get back in. After securing connections that couldn't be blocked out, Sepulveda and co worked to reclaim what they can and to gain back administrative control. (The protagonist possibly stumbles upon a secret trunk port leading to an island that was thought to be lost in a server crash several years ago. Here, they corner Prometheus after a long and arduous battle against the overwhelming amount of virus polluting the land. Prometheus himself has been transformed into half spore generator, half Darwinian. But rather than destroy Prometheus, the protagonist sends an engineer program to close off Prometheus' access point and lock him inside that area for good. However, Prometheus is far too damaged because of the virus, and cannot restore the administrative access, thus forcing them to continue on the original plan.)
Eventually, Sepulveda and co manage to fight their way into the administrative template and regain their connections, but the Virus also managed to become loose once again, leading up to now. Managing to extract several protocols within Prometheus that were developed by itself, Sepulveda and the protagonist incorporated self generating will and hardened senses into select souls that were dedicated to helping Sepulveda against the virus, allowing them to think more independently and to get the job done in more clever ways.
Which leads us... to you.
You are a Commando Darwinian with the ability to engage in utilizing some tasks and waging (un)conventional warfare against your enemies. Pitted up against countless enemy virii monstrosities and Darwinians alike, you are to cleanse the land of its influence once and for all.
You will not take the role of an overmind like Darwinia did -- rather, you ARE the Darwinian. Specifically, as mentioned, a commando. Death is merely a setback and you will respawn, unless your entire team is annihilated -- in which case, you must restart the map.
You can do a lot more than regular darwinians can, with the ability to access and run tasks. Earn bandwidth by killing enemies and completing objectives, and then use it to augment yourself, your fellow darwinians and your army.
Multiplayer support (DO NOT count on Zandronum compatibility! This is all ZScript!)
Story missions
Almost all of Darwinia and Multiwinia's features
Multiplayer competition and team battling
Terrain generation/randomization (Yes, it'll soon be possible. Just you wait and see.)
All monsters, weapons, upgrades, and much more

================================================================================================================== Video (WIP)
(Excuse the placeholder sounds. They're very, very temporary until I can finish sorting all the rest of them out.)
This video demonstrates the very basics of Darwinians -- attacking enemy teams, running from threats like grenades/rockets, and timed respawning for the player. The respawning is not how it will be in the final product -- darwinians will respawn out of a spawn point of an incubator. (Whenever I gain the ability to suddenly start flying through the air, those are when I die.)
