Re: Artic wolf remake thing
So, I have some problems with this release. I notice you're using some materials that you did not previously ask me about. I have some PMs you sent me months ago, where you certainly did ask me to use the tracer decorate, where I said yes, you may use them. However, I have a few other PMs that I've quoted below:
You had previously asked me about the sprites for the StG 44:
I'm kind of not happy about the way you've misrepresented what parts of my work you wanted to borrow. When I say you may only use the sprites, I mean that you may only use the sprites. Please don't take my code if I've asked you not to take it, even if you're planning to modify it.
So Wait, Weasel, What Should I Do?
I'd really appreciate it if you removed all of the code that you didn't ask me about. For reference, that means please remove the weapons (aside from the flamethrower and Panzerschreck, I'm pretty sure those aren't mine, and the tracer code, which you did ask about and I did grant you permission for).

I was very adamant that you not simply copy-paste the guns as-is into your mod. Instead of learning from them, you've only slightly modified them, leaving large portions completely unchanged. Here are some specifics:wildweasel wrote:I'm sorry, I don't really want to just let you use the guns. You can feel free to learn from them, but please don't use them in your mod.stroggkiller wrote:I making a mod based on return to castle wolfenstein and laz rojas project eisenmann
You are using the sprites as well as most of the code from ww-nazis-v2. See the DiffNow report here and note how many lines, especially in the Reload states and associated offsets, are completely unaltered.wildweasel wrote:Yes, but only the sprites. You had previously asked me about the sprites for the StG 44:
I don't see that weapon in here at all. Meanwhile, I took the liberty of checking some of your other weapon actors, notably Walther.txt, and well, here's the DiffNow report on your Walther versus my Walther. Again, note how many of the offsets found in the Fire state are totally untouched.wildweasel wrote:Yeah, but credit id Software for the base and me for the edits.stroggkiller wrote:Wildweasel, can i use your stg44 sprites?

What you should probably do is remove all the weapon code (except the flamethrower and panzerschreck, I don't think those were mine) and do it from scratch.stroggkiller wrote: Well first thanks to advice me because this is was a realy old thing and i will change the weapons code for not look like i ripped of from your mod
