A Christmas Nightmare [semi-finished]

Post by XCVG »

About a week ago, I had the brilliant idea to put together a special WAD for the holidays. Unfortunately, Christmas is coming much faster than I thought and other things have made me busier than expected. I didn't want to give up entirely because I've already put quite a bit of work into this, but I don't have time to finish it properly and it's kind of sitting in a rough, rushed, half-finished state.

So what's done? A set of six levels, though I wanted to do more. They're quite short, pretty simple, and some of them are kind of ugly. I did try a few new things though and maybe you'll find them interesting. New weapons that are admittedly mostly tweaked and themed versions of the stock ones. Some new enemies, including the much maligned FEM elves, though they're just supposed to be normal elves in this mod. And, of course, Christmas music. It's a fairly short set of levels and I'll be the first to admit that the whole thing lacks polish but maybe you'll have some quick fun with it.

The latest GZDoom development build is recommended. I haven't tested this on 2.0.05 and I'm not sure if there's stuff that will prevent it from working or not. It'll probably run on ZDoom, too, but I didn't design anything with the software renderer in mind so it'll probably look horrible.

Download it here.

Ha, how do you accidentally link the completely incorrect genre of game? Either way, I may give this a thorough try later on in the week.
