Clash of the titans, John Carmack Vs Gabe Newel

This is an interesting time for video games, on the dawn of 2 of the new VR systems. Going head to head, is oculus , with John Carmack as CTO, and Valve, with the Gabe Newel. With the recent announcement of valves VR headset, and oculus rifts nearing completion. Here we have a person, who is considered gaming Jesus, against a man that made the IBM pc format relevant to gaming, by bringing first scrolling, 2.5d, and finally full smooth 3d to the gaming world.

My personal opinion is that this turn of events will create a singularity of insanely well created VR systems, as this might be the first step into a world with the holodeck from star trek, I personally hope that these two companies collaborate on this innovative tech, with valve supplying the games, and oculus supplying the tech.
