the 700 pound gorrilla is noticeably absent in the room, much to my/our chagrin, but i'm optimistic that if we keep our eyes pealed johnny's gonna make us do the splits and go bananas. terrible puns aside, I/We hope you are doing well and making progress on one of the most well designed brutal doom mods ever made, and assuredly the most fun to play. I do hope to see something soon, and and always, let me know if you need my help and i'll see what i can do. I'm sure i'm not alone in that sentiment

So before the new version is released, here are some ideas on how to spruce up elements from my mod. If anyone has any ACS/HUD overlay know how, your help would be appreciated. I am currently absolutely sure of one thing: I am absolutely clueless on hud overlay and acs! so any help would be welcome.

This i have pretty much to a science in a private mod i have been working on (pre-alpha), that for ACS/HUD related reasons may never reach the light of day. The Code is there, I just need to get my hands on the new version to implement it. And it will be the very first thing i do, without any doubts or hicups in mind.

Any other suggestions regarding the refinement of these tweaks is welcome, and any assistance would be even more welcome![/spoiler]
For cigarettes, I would make them give you guaranteed fatalities for 30 seconds or so after a smoke.
For whiskey - give that delayed health boost you think about for cigarettes, but also make them disable pain chance for a minute or so (which for the player means no grunting and, more importantly, no red flashes after getting hurt).
And as for recoil - I would vote against making progressive inaccuracy when firing continuously. It is annoying as all hell - the aim-altering recoil is much better, because you can learn how to counteract it. The progressive inaccuracy does not allow that and forces you to fire much more slowly, which in Doom (especially in Brutal Doom) is not an option, as you often have to fire for long periods of time with good accuracy (swarms of any flying monster, any faster monster with 'fast' modifier, even Arch-Viles by themselves).

I don't think that we're spamming or anything like that, we're just interacting and showing our enthusiasm for the next release. Everything so far has to do with J-DOOM, so, although it may not be important for the project per se, it is important for bringing the Doom community together. So let's just chill out and have a nice time :)

Lolz I love the ridiculousness, keep it coming! Also everything is finally final finalized. I said I was just playtesting last time but I lied and actually redid the melee system. It's a little different, but the same. Smooth as fuck now. You'll see! Also the pistol has been redone since the infinite ammo thing seemed to bother too many people. It's pretty legit and will be a deece part of your arsenal now. Think project msx assault pistol-ish. And yes, that means the fists are back. I made them fun to use on their own (especially when you rapid fire punch the shit out of corpses) and when combined with the knife they are more than formidable. Still last resort tier, but fun. Also affemaria, I took your advice on the vanilla weaps. There's a "chocolate" setting that has extra bullet damage and fast switching now.

Can somebody explain to me the details behind the psxdoom titlemap, as well as the titlemaps of spork's simplicity?
