Nice :)
The hanging light could need a better texture though IMO... the small 8*32 light-bulbs (or whatever you'd call them) repeat a bit too much.

The sprites I posted are indeed based on Blood... remember those Civilians? :)
He looks great but a bit too panicky to be menacing.
At first I thought so too, but after a while I got used to it. Now I think it makes the monster look somewhat out of control, wich I like.

Eternity map-building capabilities + ZDoom Features (would)= Epic win

There might be other things Eternity can do that ZDoom can't, but I don't actually know enough about Eternity to know. :shrug:

As of right now, portals and polyobjects are the two things that Eternity has that ZDoom cannot equal.

ZDoom portals: vertically only, and they create HOMs like crazy.
Eternity portals: vertically and horizontally, no HOMs.

ZDoom polyobjects: only one per subsector or they glitch, can't leave their subsector or they also glitch.
Eternity polyobjects: can travel all around the map, can be all in the same subsector like a happy family. (Still glitch if they go in a sector with a different floor or ceiling elevation, though.)

Thanks! I might see about doing something custom for that light; it'll probably undergo some minor changes and improvements structurally, as well.

Somewhere around 190 sloped sectors up there; there's room for more, but I don't know if it'd be really necessary :P

There's also a pretty major speed difference between them, among other things. ZDoom's portals regularly give me bizarre, unexplainable slowdown...

I'm surprised Randy hasn't borrowed Eternity's portal code assuming Quasar wouldn't object. I know the two ports are vastly different, but it seems like it would be a better alternative than ZDoom's buggy portals.

However, I'm not sure if Eternity's portals would be compatible with GZDoom. Can Eternity's portals be done in OpenGL?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: read posts by developers (Graf, SoM, AndrewJ, etc.) in this thread. Something can be done of course, but not using the same system Eternity does.

I dunno if he's interested. But it doesn't really matter. Zdoom can't take code from EE because of conflicting licenses. (I'm pretty sure)

As a part of the [censored word] Bio-Engineering Curriculum, we have to learn to 3D model. However, instead of an entire semester, we have 3 days to learn on our own. How F-ed up is that? I managed to to this in Google Sketch after 3 hours of tinkering. It's an implant and transmitter I designed for the class. Pretty shitty looking, but I've never 3D modeled before. :(

I hate classes that just expect you to know things. Keep in mind that this is a freshmen college class - wtf college.

He might not have that option. For example, colleges where I live are slim pickings, as I only have a local community college or the U of A as my choices. Depending on budget and where Eriance lives, that might eliminate a university.

Did they list 3D modeling as a prerequisite for the course Eriance? I will say that for a beginner, that's not bad.

I thought about that actually, but I'm not sure it's a huge hurdle. Isn't the only proprietary code in ZDoom FMod?

While it should be listed, a counselor has to see that and deny the student first. However, I haven't heard of a counselor ever doing their job properly anymore.
This is all null and void if it wasn't a requirement.

There's also the scraps of the Build code used for some rendering tricks such as slopes.

No there are no Prerequisites, as this is a 100-level class. Which makes it the more dumb. Since I'm technically a senior, and i just transferred to the the major (from Biology). They have an accelerated version of the class for Juniors and Seniors, since they've already taken enough science courses to know the principles of basic sciences.

For this course, they assigned groups of 3-4 to do a semester design project. All other groups have at least 3 people. However, my 2 teammates both dropped the class before they assigned the partners, but the professor didn't know about it. Basically, I'm the only person working on a a 3-person project. Which is what's been eating up all my free time. Thus No DE this year. :(
