If you deliver it like a joke, you can say surprisingly scathing things with only a laugh in response. I've used this technique at work before.
I'm glad that this seems to be resolving in a peaceful manner, but I wonder how much effort went into understanding the request before the creator freaked out and threw the letter up on social media. If I received something like that, the first thing I'd do is contact the sender back and ask "Okay, what exactly do you want from me?" and cooperate with reasonable requests if possible, only involving the general public if it becomes clear I'm being bullied or otherwise need help I can't afford otherwise.
Instantly putting up a legal notice with no apparent attempt at compliance just seems like a publicity stunt, or a mad gamble that the negative press will cause a retraction. A simple press release after some good faith effort to change the logo/keywords would have saved a lot of pointless handwringing (probable hatemail to Zenimax).
