Is this a sort of Battle Armor, or actually a mobile walker? That looks cool. :D

According to his journal entry, it would be a mech. I wouldn't mind battle armor myself but the character is standing just a tad too tall for that.

Something like the Elemental battle armor lets a user stand an additional meter off the ground. Of course if you wanted to get technical they're bred for being that tall in the first place, but generally they simply are taller with the suit.

I wasn't expecting everybody to immediately think Battletech when I posted that screenshot...I guess I could take it one step further and name all the weapons after the ones in Battletech?

Also, for more information on that screenshot, I'll be lazy and just cut-paste the stuff I posted about it on my Blaugh:

Most obvious is the cockpit. Which comes from BioWare's first game, Shattered Steel. A most wonderful cockpit it is, and it saves me from the nightmare of screen real estate I would have faced had I chosen to use Descent's cockpit view instead.

What's this mean? Well, I was working on a mecha mod for Doom. What I intended was for the cockpit view to be fully functional, Mechwarrior-style (complete with a textual listing of all available weapons in the right-hand screen), with a health indicator showing limb damage (faked of course, because hit-boxes aren't possible with a sprite-based game like Doom). And then I'd give the player all kinds of gigantic weapons like gauss rifles, particle cannons, and the like. And I would pay no mind whatsoever to making the game balanced. You're in a mech for cryin' out loud! You shouldn't have trouble stomping through hordes of imps, demons, or the Hell nobility. You should be able to take on a Cyberdemon on his own terms.

One wouldn't have to do that. BattleTech isn't the only walking tank game. It's just the most well-known. :P

Would you use a custom font down on that screen, obviously?

I bet you could script a pretty convincing fake one as the player's armor levels rise and fall, so that different limbs and parts light up if they take too much damage. Think StarCraft...

Cybies are gonna shit themselves. :P

DV05 UV Max demo :P

Actually a DV01-04 movie since DV05 was only tested in ZDoom which resulted in buggy behaviour in normal ports.

Don't forget Vulcan 6000rpm miniguns; miniguns are cool :) Gotta  miniguns. DECORATE port of ESPI's GunsPC minigun killed a cyberdemon in less than three seconds; had to tone it down a lot to make the gameplay balance, but for a mech warrior, who cares :P THAT's a cool mech weapon I'd like to see!

Dunno if Jeremy Clarkson's videos / DVDs are available in the States, but he took up an attack helicopter of some sort and blasted a corvette with a minigun. The man's a lunatic, but boy that was awesome.

Youtubes of it please!

Oh, and I finally got to Metaknight- lo and behold I still need to rip his blocking frame. Thankfully the video capture I did should allow that easily. Sucks that I can't fight him with the UFO though :<

I wish. Spent ages googling for it :) This is all YouTube has that I can find :( Apocalypse Clarkson is the one you want. "Uses a helicopter gunship to turn a Corvette into Swiss cheese". Did I say the man's a lunatic? Sure I did :) But he's OUR (the Brits) lunatic :P See also thisentry on IMDB.
