Neat. I did a similar chest piece thing not long ago. We seem to have developed some unspoken bond. OOOOOooooooooooohhhhhhmmmmmmmm...

While spriting work goes on I felt the necessity to redraw our friend on a white paper.

Totally on topic, I approve greatly. He looks quite menacing with the black eyesockets.

One thing I've often wondered about the Archvile is how close to the original model does he actually follow? There doesn't seem to be much detail on his head, or at least detail we can see from the pixels. The model has a crazy ridged head, looks quite interesting. Maybe iD used the model as a base, but the head was too detailed and big to be converted well, so they made it more similar to a skull? Dunno, just thinking.

Today I bring you a question, Solo. Ever try making something cool using the Hacx face as base?

No, I have to admit that I never played it... So... link at least to the mugshot, please. :)

Oh god... I just saw that model. And I have to say that I prefer the skull-pixels version. The face of the model didn't look as evil as the final version... And now that I think about it, if I remeber right, one of the faces in marble textures should be an Arch-Vile head... and if I am right it is a bit different too to the model... the mistery of shrinkening! :P

Hacx is freeware. Best if you get the whole wad, maybe.

Oh, about the drawings I posted.

Cyborg parts and stuff. Two ocular upgrades.
The zoom thing works like this. Hold button to (kinda) slowly zoom in. Max zoom of 125%, do 125% damage. (More with further upgrades?) Mwahahahaha!
The second one is sort of a scouter that can find POWER LEVELS (max hp = power level) (groups of enemies get clumped together into a large sum). Can also find keys, exits and maybe even secrets with the right upgrades. Could also point out weak spots on enemies... but that's sorta out there.

Merged the borg and melee guy and got mini Shoulder Rockets. Fast, homing, fun.

The integration bar could be for something like this. You install a high grade upgrade but don't have the know-how or software/hardware to get the most out of it. Could slowly go up with time and use or with snappy firmware upgrades. Yeah!
Or it's just a thing that shows up whenever you install an upgrade. Meter full = good to go. Meter building = can't use it yet, son.

The other stuff is just armor. Perhaps your fancy body can become damaged. Lowering integration and ultimately destroying parts. Gotta keep your tech safe.

Oh, and for potential ocular upgrades, how about a quick blackout whenever you switch some eye part out? MY IMMERSION!

I've lost my Wacom-Fu so here's an idea without the proper time given to illustrate.
Image
Shell goes in super special science shotgun, gun fires. Bu- WHAAA?

You hear an unusual burst, a sharp sound as you fire the weapon. Strangely, the gun seems to leap forwards in your loose and unprepared grip.
Nothing could have prepared you for what happens next. Your target, an imp, roars in pain as part of its torso seems to be... sucked out. Ripped apart, sundered. The mess you've made, the guts and gore, spills out towards you. Your weapon calms down.

You grip your gun firmly and fire again. THOOM! The jolt is quick and precise. Predictable. Yes, you can handle this weapon.
Now then, where the hell are going to find ammo for this thing?

The BLACK(HOLE) SHOTGUN.

Shells filled with controlled, compressed anti-mater. No chance for handloads with this one. How sci-fi can you get?! Doles out a good, strong SUCKER PUNCH as the shell releases its payload, a microscopic black hole. Gone as quick as it shows up, which exactly equates to MASSIVE CARNAGE. This gun and this gun only is made to control this burst of energy. Weaponize it. A real de-atomizer. Bring an umbrella. (Reverse knockback, you know.)

Even found a possible sprite sheet, although it could do with some tech doodads and additional badassery.
Image
Dunno where it's from but that shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

So, a very strong science pump-shotgun with reverse knockback and some tasty SPACE MADNESS CHAOS SUPER AWESOME sound whenever you shoot the thing. Guess it'd work as a railgun. Black rail with white lightning? YUM.

Oh, and kudos on the cybervile again, Spaghetti. That's one creepy SoB!

I like this concept, but I think there is a problem with the spritesheet... if I remember correctly Yholl wanted only centerd sprites.

So basically one missing sprite then. Everything else can be used for reloading. ;)
