Agreed, I like weapons with that sleek, hi-tech look to them. It kind of reminds me of the revolver from BF2142, a lot of the weapons in that had the same aesthetic.

It is just a minor bug. Absolutely everything else is playable...
Spoiler:
It's just hard to tell how many bought items you can have. Also, complete rewrites of the entire codebase do take a long time. In the meantime, feel free to glean any details you want from this free teasing screenshot. ;)
Thanks for this!

So, that maximum number for the Tome of Power (and other items, I assume...) in this screenshot is part of the glitch?

Why is it necessary to re-write the entire codebase for something like this, if you don't mind answering?

Also, any word on how much of the process is complete/incomplete, if you can estimate?

Aw man... this looks beautiful! Ok, going counter-clockwise, starting with the Tiberium, we have...

- The four kinds of armor you can pick up
- Medibag
- OOH! Very smart to implement the option to buy an Ironblast octo-super-shotgun, for Doom and other maps/mappacks that have no early Supershotgun spawners! I wanted to suggest this, but you guys are way ahead of me... :D
- Berserker Potion
- Gunzerker Potion
- Mana Potion
- Tome Of Power
- Wings Of Wrath
- Dynamite?
- Three types of performance-enhancing drugs... XD
- A muzzle? Or wait... could that be a breathing apparatus for hazardous areas?
- The ExtremeSphere, now converted to Guncaster form. Unleashes Ultimate Cygnis. Grants Steel Dragon (Invulnerability), Berserker Dragon, Gunzerker Dragon, Infinite Ammo, and Infinite Mana, and probably a health/armor boost. All for a good 60 or so seconds. Must be insanely expensive... maybe 10,000+ gold?
- Aaaaaaaand... wait... WTF is that blue thing?

It's good to be reassured that this mod is still being worked on. Thank you so much for the screenshot!

P.S.: Four things I'm really looking forward to doing with this next version when it comes out (in no particular order)...

- Unleashing Gunzerker
- Unleashing Berserker
- Unleashing Ultimate Cygnis
- Firing the Ironblast eight-barreled super-shotgun :D :D :D

I suppose it wasn't strictly necessary, but the original shop code creator insisted upon doing so, especially to account for a few other nice functionalities we were looking into but had no way of doing. The original shop code creator also has a lot of homework to do in real life. ;) There is no official ETA, though I think Pillow was trying to dredge up the final weapon replacements first and then worry about the shop later.
People wrote:stuff about the quality of the new weapon graphics
If I may be personally honest, now that I can make the comparison publically, the look of the Trailblazer weapons will always feel like a much better fit in Doom games to me than Guncaster's, but a style per mod I suppose. I just can't stop loving the nitty-grittiness of those base sprites, and feeling weird and critical about these ones. They're shiny for a manhandling dimension-crossing dragon with the only intent of killing everything he sees... Maybe too shiny...

Alright, cool. :D

I wasn't exactly asking for an ETA... I was actually asking for progress of completion (like, say... half-done, almost done, 30%). But if there's no word on it, then no worries. :)

Maybe you guys could first fix that max-number glitch that you brought up in the screenshot, and release that version... and then you can work on rewriting the whole thing to get those other few functions or whatever else you wanted to get in, and release that version as an update... (shrug)

What do you guys think?

Also, couldn't the max-number problem be fixed using the "Inventory.MaxAmount" property? Or is it more complicated than that?

What additional aesthetics were you guys hoping to add by rewriting the whole code?

If you mean you're running the original Doom 2 executable (from 1994) then that's your problem. Try downloading and using GZDoom instead. I also recommend using the ZDL launcher, which is a very convenient front-end.

Maybe if I took a good look at the code, I can fix that number glitch problem... so that it can be released earlier...

If it was a decorate issue, I'd have it fixed aeons ago, mind you.

Eitherway!

Good news are that I made up my mind, as there's no point in elongating this misery any longer - there's nothing feature-wise that I'd feel like doing I can think of, so I do hoped to actually get weapons done or script fixed for that release, but since I bet I can't count on anything until summer would happen, I'll let it go. My apologizes that I couldn't make either of those happen. Stanley is too busy with homework to tackle it anytime soon, and Doom has his issues to deal with first, and I am too limited in skills to do it on my own (nor I want to look for help). So yeah, by saying that, I mean that the mod's might get a release soon enough, despite all the quips and unfinished stuff. If I can redeem myself why I was holding it up for so long - let's just say I believed it wouldn't take that long, and was tightly sticking to that hope, as if there's something I hate doing, as I already mentioned - that'd be releasing something with obvious flaws/lackings. I've got slapped over the head with some common sense that I'd probably be the only one to notice some of those details, but the aforementioned bug or missing replacements can't be overseen, really.

Bad news are that this plus recent events irl made my motivation to even live crumble like a house of cards, if me being silent these days didn't give it away already. Yup, I won a brand-spanking new, sizeable depression. Not sure if I'll ever get out of it, as it's kinda permament, with it's stronger and weaker moments, but it got really unbearable these days. For being really miserable person at daily basis - I do wear that mask of being an overtly absurd idiot, nobody likes seeing one constantly miserable. Nothing's without a reason, though - I have to put up with too much shit, and that was my way to silently vent off that frustration. I was however overwhelmed these days, despite the best of intentions, and I feel "a little" helpless, and like an annoying bugger for trying to push things I couldn't do myself.

So yeah, shit happens, nobody cares. For now, I'll probably concentrate on the studies, despite the odds. It's not the end of the world yet though, as my diploma project might get tied with my work here, so time will tell. For now, I think I can officially admit that I am stuck in development limbo for... quite a bit of time, heh. Stay tuned, ze release will happen after max three to four weeks at best, if I won't get convinced otherwise. I need to get myself roughly together, as my computer recently broke and I only recovered my data and got new gear online, and there's still a thing one person would like to do for me for that finishing touch that I can still apply. If she won't make it in time, but I hope she will - the update shall arrive, anyway.

Eh... I figured.

I seriously wonder how something like that could have happened, though...

HUZZAH! IT'S COMING OUT! :D

It's ok, PB... I think one of us may be able to fix whatever is still lacking, once it comes out. I mean, that is the point of the community, right?

If you don't mind... once it comes out, could you tell me the bugs that Guncaster still has, that you would want fixed?

(epic brohug) We will pray for you, PB. I wish there was something more I could say to help comfort you, but all I can say right now is that we're all behind you. We love you, dude, and we'll be praying for help, for your sake.

Since I am fed up with my inability to say that something ticks me off, there is one thing you could do, and I'll be blunt - please, stop pushing on me for that release or info about bugs and whatnot. I can understand curiousity, but it really became unhealthily obnoxious, and I'm afraid I had let it get me. And last thing I'd wish for right now are prayers. Let's just say I had enough of praying recently.

Oh.

I see.

My apologies.

I only wanted to know what kinds of things need work, to see if I could possibly attempt to fix them, even with my limited knowledge...

Don't want to off-put you, but trust me - this is a nagging to get stuff done, and I was a victim of doing that myself. This really gets on one's nerves, even with best of intentions. And speaking of that, best intentions can't make things suddenly work as well - gotta wait for that flawed one, hun. I do just hope now that this move I decided on won't be a huge mistake. Well, no turning back now.

I know... I'm a really impatient guy. It tends to happen, especially if I get too excited.

I pray it will work. ;) Besides, Zhs2 said that everything else was working properly... it's just a problem with the maximum inventory number displayed in the shop. I trust him, and I trust it will work out.

As a side effect, it also doesn't stop you from repeatedly buying items when you have reached their inventory.maxamounts. It's rather too bad that you can't return a number like that without first storing it somewhere manually, which is what ended up overflowing and causing the bug you see here. :( Beyond that, however, yes - everything else works and plays correctly.

Ok. :)

Just saw the video again... it looks like that "mask" item is an asbestos suit?

I hope his dragon lungs can withstand that stuff.
