I recall that many people during the original discussion of the error screen in ZDoom seemed really worried that Microsoft would end up with their bank account details, number of children, salary and the name of their cat!Chris wrote:Huh? In other words, I found it amusing that people are so worried that Randy felt it necessary to explicitly disclaim the sending of data to Microsoft

I think it was justified enough. I know when I use Windows and a crash dialog like that pops up, I instinctively click Don't Send because I don't want to deal with the hassle of filing a report, and if it's not a Microsoft program it would more than likely be ultimately useless for them anyway. So by having a dialog which was (at the time) somewhat similar, someone like me would click Don't Send thinking it was going to Microsoft (who wouldn't be able to do anything, and be a big waste of time). However, by explicitly stating it's not going to Microsoft, more people may be willing to send it since it's sent to Randy for proper debugging. In other words, I found it amusing that people are so worried that Randy felt it necessary to explicitly disclaim the sending of data to Microsoft
