so, let me get this all straightened out. Your going to parody one of my maps as a secret level in WWE? cool :)

For the "realm tours" (sounds like a bad travel agent :P) we could follow the lines of what they did in Zen Dynamics Map07 (their final map) which had a camera flowing thru the intro of the level, and showing off the features.

That's what I was thinking. When you enter the realm, the camera backs away from the player, showing him standing in front of the realm's grand landscape. Then the camera warps around the realm, showing off important areas. Then it flows right back into the player's head, and he gets control back.

@KoF: Yes. I'm gonna play through your map, and then try to recreate it from memory. The result will be filled with funny hudmessages, and weird creatures, and that is the secret level.

the thing is, is that it's going to take me a very long time to finish it. What with school and all.

Well, I dunno if this has occured to you or not, but perhaps you should go about gathering a bigger mapping team?

I would offer my own services but am limited by the following:

Lack of a Hexen IWAD.
SCOURGE needs to be finished, it's that close and has been in production for so long.
I've got the Water Resource Wad to do.
ZDCMP2 is going to need picking up.

1. I can Email you the pallette, which is pretty much all we're using from the Hexen IWAD (WWE is an IWAD of it's own.)
2. Finish SCOURGE. I think it's very cool.
3. Nobody is clamoring for the Water Resource Wad, and I'd be glad to add a bunch of stuff from WWE and help out.
4. WWE will blow ZDCMP2 out of the water

I'm kidding. But I would like Phobos on the team. I just cannot think of a reason we beat ZDCMP2, so I made one up.

1) Do you know that for WWE to be an IWAD it would need everything that Doom2.wad has? Do you seriously intend to put all of that in? I thought this was just going to be a big PWAD.
2)Whilst I'm happy to hear you like SCOURGE, how much do you know about it? I myself don't actually think most of it is very good. The majority of the wad looks average to accomplished at best. The only really good levels are 18-21 (because they are the start of detail and feature the sort of gameplay that makes the wad worth dling at all) and level 31 (becuase it's huge, uses ZDoom features, though very limited and looks very good from my architectural viewpoint.)
3)The water resource wad is really in need of doing for a couple of reasons; mainly the fact that I announced it and have shown off some of it's work to a couple of people (yourself included) and also because it will be utilised in a map wad, which demonstrates everything in there. Also, once I've done this, the demo wad and SCOURGE I'll have a clean plate and will be free to do some smaller, better projects.
4)ZDCMP2 seems to have lost most of the interest/appeal it once had and also seems to be falling behind, unlike it's predecessor, which really did rule the board for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if WWE did pwn it.

As for me being on the project. Like I said, I'd like to, but I've got a to do list and I'm unsure of point #1.

1. It will imitate HeXen, and most of those lumps will be markers.
2. I've seen some screenies that look cool.
3. Okay.
4. The big problem with "Community" projects is that they can die before they fly, so to speak. I'm dedicated to this, and I'm gonna stop at nothing.

I'm also gonna stop at nothing to have this finished. I like it. And hey, I put a lot of work into it already.

And about it being it's own iwad... It doesn't need all of the things from Doom 2 or Hexen or whatever, the engine only checks for certain lumps to determain if it's an iwad or not. At least, I believe it does. And I know other mods have been done as their own iwad, or had a special iwad that just mimiced Doom 2, so that it could be distributed more freely.

@Deathsong: Ok then, you've answered all of my questions. I'll get to work on finishing SCOURGE asap and then sort out a website. Once that's done, I'll release and move my sights onto the Water_Res wad. Sorry, but I still reckon I can't help out here.

That's okay. I reckon our team will get much bigger when the teaser comes out.
