It's weird. If textures are loaded before the game starts, I don't know what is being loaded during the game, which could cause such freezes. It doesn't really make sense, but sorry to hear that. Maybe someone with more technical knowledge about it will be able to explain something.

Try vulkan. For me this works nice under opengl but some mods with lags works better under vulkan.

Does he not mention in the profile description that he already has "Graphics Processor: nVidia with Vulkan support"? ;)

BTW I remembered that I had a similar situation in Farc Cry V when I installed high res materials add-on. At that time my a garph card had 4GB VRAM and it turned out that was not enough. Game lags as hell, I suppose the card was not able to accommodate all the textures. This may also be the case here. But we need someone with more technical knowledge here.
@Graf Zahl maybe..?

It's loading like what, 400+ MB worth of extremely high resolution textures?

That's what feature "precache gl textures" is for - for loading all textures BEFORE you start the level. Sorry, but I don't know how to explain it more easily.

Try this version - I halved the size of all textures and changed their format from TGA to PNG. I think there is not much visible difference between 2k and 1k texture ingame, at least not for me. File size is now 132MB instead of 520MB, and now it loads much faster. I wonder if this shouldn't be the official version. Let me know how it works on your machine.

Just wanted to say that this is shaping up to be some really quality stuff here. The work you're doing is absolutely phenomenal! Here are a couple snapshots with your work in action running alongside Hunter's Moon, relightingv3.31b, and texture lights -

Thanks! By the way, this mod (texture lights) looks like an interesting solution in term of lighting for IWAD levels. I have to try it out.

Yes, I forgot scaling this problematic steps texture/flats. It's now fixed, check it out.

Ok, after trying it out, it certainly is better than the violent stutters i got before, but it still stutters a bit.
To be honest, when i said "lite version" i meant 512x512 JPEGs or something like that

Out of curiosity - how your machine handles other texture packs like Wulfen mod for Doom3 or Epsilon for Quake?
