The discussion is not off topic, since it is about an element of the story in "Hell on Xmas Eve - Play as Santa and save Xmas!", as described in the opening post. That's pretty much on-topic.

That's as may be, but I get this feeling that the mod's author is looking for discussion on whether the mod itself is good or not.

And the discussion about the "it's just a joke" bullshit in the main plot element in the mod is contributing directly to discussion about how bad it is, which I think is close enough!

What I mean is that it's already been firmly established that the "joke" is in poor taste, and perhaps further criticism should be leveled towards the REST of the mod.

Onto the wad...I really enjoy it. I've always been a sucker for festive wads, and the music in this one is really good; though I notice the first track had a weird Mock 2 esque animal sound at the end. I still enjoyed it.

I'm also liking how you used PSX sounds and even threw in the nightmare spectre and nightmare imp. I always thought it was weird that the PSX had the nightmare spectre, and 64 had the nightmare imp but not the nightmare spectre. Glad that absolution port of the 64 version fixed that.

The sprites look great, and I laughed at the Duke style Santa Claus. The voice acting adds charm to this wad I feel, so that's another plus for me.

All around, really fun wad and good levels. A fun, festive romp.

EDIT: My one complaint is that you didn't gift wrap the shell box. Other than that, nice job.
