I just have to say that in Xaser's previous weapon mod, the sniper rifle was beautiful. By that I mean not as much the graphics but the way it worked.

Yes, that is true, but they were actually sculptures. They just made something like a bunch of clay sculptures, put them in a small studio thing, took pictures, converted those to the doom pallete, and used them as the sprites. HELL of a lot easier than drawing each one by hand.

Not really. The Doom shotgun was actually based off a toy shotgun (and I have that same model of shotgun, too, lolz). There was a thread on Doomworld about this somewhere, but I don't know the link. :P

Also, the Doom chainsaw was based off a real live chainsaw. :P

Anyway, I already have 3 weapons done on the Weapon mod. Yeah, like any of you care. :P

Basing the weapons off the real thing makes sense... why would I make a clay model of somthing I have right outside? :P

@GrafZahl - Yes, this one would fit.

@Xaser - If you find enough weapons which look doomish, I have no problem to replace the complete arsenal of weapons, but if everyone knows, that they are just simple Model2Sprite conversions, the effect is not that good at all. You can show me some of the sprites but the possibility, that I am going to add them is very, very small.
And don't compare our wads to "MassMouth 2" because you really can't do that ;)
I would like to see altered Doom Weapon sprites ingame itself or combinations from Doom and ROTT or maybe some Doom Alpha weapons or things like that, but I really, really hate these 3D Conversions :(

@AgentME - So what? :)

...and now please back to topic ;)

No. They are most likely converted from scanned photographs of real weapons (the 'normal' guns at least.) The others look hand drawn. Most likely there was no 3D modelling involved (at least not with the low polygon count that has hurt so many games.)

Has anyone considered an outside texture that kinda looks like Heretic's Episode 3 sky texture? Obviously it wouldn't be in blue, but a sort of bubble around the outside areas would make sense. (Bad atmosphere, heat a little too hot, etc...) With something like this, you could make a "rest" type of area, with a waterfall, a fountain, a stream, or whatever.

"Climate control."

Intresting stuff... are those pictures of Mars' surface real? I'm dead intrested in Mars and any other planet that could have probably held life at one point. I've got this theory that Mars used to be identicle to Earth, but at one point the dominating species caused a catastrophe that destroyed the planet... maybe it was a warning for us, and that we might head in the same direction as Mars if we continue to abuse the planet... That's my thoughts anyway :D.

Basically, I beleive that there was some form of intelligable life on Mars... maybe there still is... deep underground?

@Mannequin - That might be interesting, considering the fact, that I thought on a high-tech city ;) But I'd like to have a variabel sky, which changes from clear dark night (stars, moons, etc.) to heavy sandstorms around the "artificial climate sphere" ;) Maybe I will do the skybox ;)

Any chance of me getting in on a small outside area and secret? I'll let you do the skybox, but I could do a simple building to building, or something like that. (I've had a simple idea for an entrance for years, but I know the entrance is already taken. :) )

I'm not going to be bothered with people changing it too much, as long as the flavor remains.

Mind if I can get in on some of this? After taking a look at the awesomeness in the first one, I think it would be fun. I'm getting to be a pretty good mapper, so I should be able to help. Indoor, outdoor, secret, just tell me what to do.
