Ermm...TBH I'm not sure how to respond to the fact that mine and Rott's work now makes up the majority of something that will almost inevitably be credited as "A community texture pack by Tormentor667"

Wait, isn't there-Tormentor667 wrote:Quite simple answer: Because there is no good Heretic texture pack on the whole planet that extends the game's sets.
Oh, I get it. By including that set, you're ensuring that this is the only Heretic texture pack people should have. And because it's by you (omg <3 tormentor!!!!), no one will bother to make another.Tormentor667 wrote:Many of the recolors are from essel's and rottking's texture set.

The word "typical" would come to mind were I in your position.esselfortium wrote:Ermm...TBH I'm not sure how to respond to the fact that mine and Rott's work now makes up the majority of something that will almost inevitably be credited as "A community texture pack by Tormentor667"

I don't think it's very nice to use essel's and rottking's textures, recolour them, and then rebrand them under a different name, Torm. :(

What I was saying is that (as I understand it) he feels that he and rottking did the work, and as you've grouped it into a larger resource wad and turned it into a realm667 feature it would rather feel as though you've stolen their thunder, so to speak. You've not actually taken anything off of them, but from now on it'll be part of "that Heretic texture pack on realm667". Even if they get the credit they deserve, it will be associated with your site. Rather like how the DECORATE monsters people have made are swiftly becoming "The Beastiary Monsters"Tormentor667 wrote:What do you want to say?Phobus wrote:The word "typical" would come to mind were I in your position.
It's more of a comment than a complaint. I don't specifically object to what you're doing, and to be honest it is helpful to have everything all in one place. It's just that ever niggling doubt that now resources will have come from realm667, rather than the original authors.

What makes that different from having all the wads on /idgames?Phobus wrote:It's more of a comment than a complaint. Do not forget: I do not earn money with my site nor is it important for me to read others saying: "Realm667 is the best resource site all over the world!", it's simply that I want to help keep things organized and in one spot
Re: [Heretic] Baker's Legacy - The Community Texture Pack!
/idgames is considered neutral ground (well... for uploading wads anyway), as although it is owned and operated by a Team TNT member (I think
), it is basically a community resource. It's not "Ty's Doom Archive" or anything.
Still, whatever the case, as I said, what you are doing is useful and you are certainly being helpful by doing it. To be honest it'd be the same if anybody else tried to collate as many resources as possible onto their site as well. People would start associating the resources with the site more than anything else.

At least I made Realm667 a more neutral ground since doing the redesign.

Re: [Heretic] Baker's Legacy - The Community Texture Pack!
Did some more stuff today:

I have to admit, the longer I work on these things, the more interested I get in Heretic mapping
But I'd be happy if we would get some more original contributions
