I thought someone glued those boxes to the ceiling. Actually now that I think about it... Maybe you can stick some teleport pads underneath them to make it look like the boxes are floating in mid-air due to the un-natural power of the teleporters.

You underestimate the power of imp glue.

Sometimes not unpegging a door "track" texture is quite realistic, such as if you seem to have a chain-driven mechanism moving the door. However in most cases it either looks like part of the wall or like an actual track the door is sliding in, so it should be unpegged.
I don't know--I just haven't typed anything today so I decided to do it here

After about 20 tries and a bit of practice running through the map empty, here's a demo of me completing it on Nightmare difficulty with all secrets and without dying (although I came close at the end -- kind of made a panicked beline for the exit switch after I realized I might die after coming so damn close...) Enjoy:

Nice going HotWax!
I just uploaded ixmap01b, hopefully the last version of the map for the time being. Otherwise I'll never get started on the second level ^^
Shined up the level based on UV's comments and increased the difficulty level.
The gradual lights I tried to make looked silly since the wall above the lamps lit up, so I decided not to put that in. Perhaps it would work if I made a brighter square inside the original light square instead of a darker one around it :/
Maybe HotWax will try the new version on NightMare to prove his worth once again, hehe.

I loved the floating boxes, it gives that old-school pwad feel of "who really cares if it makes sense", and I remember back when I could just pop out levels like that (although mine weren't nearly as good). In short I love the n00b mapper spirit, and it's even more of a plus when their maps turn out pretty good :)

That was an awesome demo! If you can get through something like that on nightmare (not saying it was extremely difficult), then you would probably have no trouble getting through
my maps!
Then again, I could make a map where you have to fight 60 cyberdemons with a chaingun... and then after all of them are dead, the walls around the arena lower to reveal half a million arch-viles (exaggerated number)... and then after THAT, more walls lower to reveal 50 bossshooters and another 80 cyberdemons... (you still have to use chaingun) and THEN, after all the cyberdemons are dead, more walls lower to reveal a mass quantity of MORE bossshooters, and
then, if you can somehow make it out of the secret door, you get teleported to a large room where if you walk anywhere, you get teleported to another part of the room. I could also have in the same room's floor made of lava, and there are crushers at every teleport destination, and it's pitch black, so you wouldn't be able to see where the crushers are (not that that would matter), and ALSO hide 4 arch-viles in the walls...... And then, if you somehow made it out of that, you'd be faced with a large maze, whose floor is made of more lava... and if you run into a dead-end, you get teleported into a place where death is certain (now you say "Erm... death wasn't certain already?"). Then after that is the end. Heh, I would
love to see someone get through
that.
Oh, yeah, and Ix, the third version of your level is, as far as I can tell, really good. I don't think you'll need to release a fourth version of the map

iddqd does wonders, giest.
Not sure how many wonders it would do against 120 bossshooters; iddqd doesn't protect you against telefragging.

It's already been done before. 32 levels of Marine-smearing action. It was rather dull, actually.

That was done by someone in the community (Hyena?). I found some levels to be very funny. One was where you start in a hallway with nukage and it tells you to run, so you do; but then you end up in the same place because you took a big circle. Made me LMAO. Or the race with cyberdemons as spectators... and them you die.
