Hello Again; I know its been Awhile, so I thought I would post the Battle Stance of Leo while explaining a few things; I am currently working towards making the first real trailer for this game (Not just a showcase, but an actual trailer showing off some of the mechanics that I have been keeping a secret until now) And I want to get everything perfect for it.
I am sure I mentioned before, but All NPCs can be attacks and defeated (Permamently!). Some NPCs, such as Leo, has a unique fighting style exclusive to his character. He’s no Pushover, as he is essentially a Miniboss!
I don’t have much to say, other then I still working Hard. I am sorry for the slow updates; its not that I am not working on this, its that I am working on this that I can’t show case UNTIL the trailer is out. Once that is done, I can start going back to more constant updates again!
I want to try and get this trailer done by next month, so I try my best to get it done by then; I hope you can all hold on til then, and I will see you all soon, and once again sorry for the slow updates; I hope no one thinks my project is dead due to slow updates!

He is heavily inspired by J. Talbain, correct!JimpArgon wrote: I'm thinking of Dark Stalkers Jon Talbain fuzed with Donovan when I see that character.
The idea came about due to the fact that the Shining Force Series always has Monk Based wolf man Classes. It should be noted Wolfe, the Lionman, is based off of Leo from Warzard/Red Earth, too!

Re: Memoirs of Magic
Hey, Not update this time, but just a quick Question. I have already asked this before, but I was reading the GPL/DSL license for this engine, as I just want to make sure what I am getting into when I eventually release the mod.
http://doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom_Source_License
Section 4 caught my eye here, with the quote;
I am just curious, since I would like to have access to the characters I created for this project after the completion of it to perhaps try my hand at it with a different engine, but I am just curious what the implications are here.

The section that says " images generated by the Software or depicted in the Software) are owned by ID and is protected by United States copyright laws and international treaty provisions". Does that mean anything featured in my mod on release would effectively owned by iD?4. Copyright. The Software and all copyrights related thereto

Also, the information you linked to is the same as the other Wiki. I just want to make sure I am understanding what I am reading correctly. Is they anyone here who has extensive knowledge on the lincense for Doom/Zdoom/GZDoom?

Re: Memoirs of Magic
I myself couldn't give less shits about which wiki is linked, but everyone else in the doom community likes to beef on wikia, so...
I'm sure that you don't have to abide by DSL, but a little clarification from someone who knows would be nice for everyone.

If you target GLOOME or GZDoom-GPL, then you don't have to worry about the DSL's outdated clauses.
That said, the DSL was never written with the assumption that people would do something else than play Doom with tweaked Doom engines. By the rule as written, if you play some of the various TCs of the nineties, you can get Id Software automatically claiming copyright on characters owned by Fox, Disney, and other companies much, much, much larger than Id. Which means that in the extremely unlikely case of ZeniMax trying to assert copyright over your indie stuff, then you could send them a screenshot of your game with Homer Simpson, Boba Fett, a Dalek, and Barney the Dinosaur in the game, then buy some popcorn.
TL;DR: the rule obviously only applies to when people are actually running Doom, and couldn't legally give them intellectual property rights on characters they have no rights to.

So you are saying 100% certain I shouldn't worry in the slightest?Gez wrote:http://doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom_Wiki:Departure_from_Wikia

EDIT: I am using the GZDoom engine, I should point out too. So non of this affects me?
Re: Memoirs of Magic
GZDoom-GPL specifically, yes.
But yeah I don't imagine anyone trying to get this clause of the original DSL binding for non-Id content. The spirit of the clause is about protecting Id's copyright on stuff such as the baron of Hell by pointing out that screenshots from Doom are still under their copyright. Extending this to non-Doom content goes quite obviously far beyond this spirit.
