Re: Windows 10
Microsoft didn't fix this or they did fix this issue? Yes, or no? This bug happened to me once, and I had to wait for few days until it is usable again. Thankfully, Microsoft fixed this with an update.MarisaKirisame wrote:Ah, getting the "taskbar suddenly becomes unusable" bug too?

Re: Windows 10
..and the reason why it upgraded to 10 IS... because I was at school two mondays back and, for some reason, for some seconds after I was on 8, it upgraded for no reason whatsoever. It likely pissed me off. Then, I reacted with: WHAT HAVE MY LENOVO LAPTOP HAS DONE!? WHY!!!?
Re: Windows 10
With all the blunders in Windows 10 going on they should offer it for free for life.
It certainly won't be worth any price tag they put on it with the fact that they're almost trying to force 7/8/8.1 users to upgrade.

Re: Windows 10
Considering my sister uses 10 and avast and she's not having that issue anymore (but rather other, unrelated problems), I'd say it was fixed.

Makes me wonder what the point was of the "reserve your free upgrade" thing they started out with.Eruanna wrote:It certainly won't be worth any price tag they put on it with the fact that they're almost trying to force 7/8/8.1 users to upgrade.

Re: Windows 10
So I'm getting a new AV and I thought that this thread might be a good place to ask.
I'm stuck on two choices: Microsoft Security Essentials or Bitdefender.
Which ones are better? I'm put off by Avast automatically installing it's own browser.

Re: Windows 10
I've been using Win10 at work for a few months now. It's not too bad for that; mainly stays out of my way and the defaults are okay. I like that they finally implemented multiple desktops natively.
I'd never use it for my personal computer though. Linux Mint (Cinnamon Edition) beats it to a bloody pulp, IMO.

Windows Defender is pretty much MSE and comes inbuilt in to Windows 10. I pesonally just use the Free Edition of Bitdefender. Never had a problem with.4thcharacter wrote:So I'm getting a new AV and I thought that this thread might be a good place to ask.

Re: Windows 10
I can't remember if I've mentioned it in here, but here's a useful tool:
http://win10wiwi.com/
If your Win7/8/8.1 is bothering you to upgrade, this tool will remove the upgrade notifiers, background downloaders, and any of the data-collection stuff as well as hiding and locking the Windows Updates responsible. So exactly as advertised, it's Windows 10 when I want it, not when MS wants it.

Ah, from the URL I guessed it was some kind of prostate formula for Windows.wildweasel wrote:So exactly as advertised, it's Windows 10 when I want it, not when MS wants it.

Re: Windows 10
i just found out what the specific update that does the Win 10 notification was, and made sure it wouldn't install. the funny thing is, my laptop had issues, which were partly the fault of Win 10 i suppose, but my desktop handled it pretty well (for all the technical difficulties it had otherwise.)
