YOU USE BLENDER

Have you actually used Blender? Or are you just repeating what people say? Blender's UI became all Max-like and more usable since a few years ago. It's what made me from not touching Blender with a 10 foot pole, to switching happily to it permanently.

If GIMP made a similar move, for sure I wouldn't mind switching to GIMP.

Blenders ui is still pretty bad imho. Not a trainwreck like gimp though.
Side note: the most irreplaceable piece of proprietary software I've used yet has to be indesign.

The default Blender UI that comes when you install it is still awkward to me, the 2.4 pattern is still the simpliest, always when i install Blender on someone's computer i always change the interface to something more like 2.4, i don't need see another 30 options eating my screen which i will not use for that moment.

A few more graphics to show and a little palette cleanup, also just starting work on HUD stuff (slight vignette effect is a reference to MGS3)

Looks very bland to me, too obvious patterns. What about scaling textures or using ones with higher resolution?

The best way to get that true CRT feel is to use a CRT. :3:

This is the UAC Vinur Prime map yet, which is meant to be vanilla, i think i already detailed there more than the necessary for a vanilla-style, i'm avoiding higher resolution textures for now but i know the ugliness of the wall in the right, i'll try strech the texture scaling as you mentioned, that will suffice i think.

P.S: First time recieving feedback from Tormentor, wow.

Just adding more variety would help I think. You have a lot of large architecture, but not a lot of small details to the map. Like the floor is one large patch of the same texture at the same height and the same light level. Introducing variety would work wonders for the project.

Ah yes, floor detailing is one of the things i leave for last thing to do, don't worry about this part it will not be all this simple too, lol.
