this is separate from my other post so i made it into a different reply
I've grabbed the final image from here:
http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=43178
And I've removed the pistol for someone to use it on their hands sheet or whatevers:

With gap

Without gap (badly removed by me using paint.net)
By the way, could someone edit the palm of the hand to look less weird? (in the image of the hand without a gap)

I'd imagine that having a muzzle brake bigger than your magazine would be a problem.

Makes sense for a bolt-action. Stable firing platform and all that.

you could in theory fake a bolt action animation with hand movement on the sprite

It's crooked. It should have straight horizontals and be
single point perspective but right now it's tilted to the left. It also seems a bit large.

Tried to do something that I never did before... A shootty shotty.
I won't do the pumping frames ever from the angled view (but maybe from the centered view)...

Okay, I tried something and whipped up these two things out of a small piece of one of the countless piles of electronic garbage my uncle keeps for reasons unkown. They both are the same object in two different perspectives (facing forwards and back). No clue what it is (I think it's part of a hard drive or a CD player), but it could be useful to edit as part of a gun, no?
Anyways, here they are:
I'll see what I can come up with later using these two thingies.

I keep wanting to perpetuate this but... a belt fed pump action sniper rifle (or DMR) would be even better. By locking the action in place its just as accurate. Give me a belt fed pump action .50bmg rifle any day (ooh a 200 round magazine you say...)
Captain J wrote:Indeed. But i really don't get about the HD pack is M4 uses same ammo with Beretta. If you guys don't get it, beretta is a pistol. and of course it uses pistol rounds, right? but M4 is literally an assault rifle, so it uses rifle rounds. But in original Half-Life weapons, they are Glock and MP5. Which it makes much more sense since they uses same ammo in real life. I know i'm overreacting about it, but man. They sure blew it up.
They have M4/AR15 alternatives that are chambered in pistol rounds, especially .40 and 9mm. Problem is they look a slight bit different and the magazines are supposed to be straight while the mags for a beretta or any other pistol are slanted (they go reverse to what a curved rifle mag does).
Personally I would expect the guards to be using M4s since thats standard mil issue. But they wanted the pistol and smg ammo to be compatible. I guess in an isolated black ops facility they could just use 9mil across the board and get away with it, in case of body armor they have much nastier stuff they can throw at intruders or a soldier going postal. If they needed range they'd just get the sniper rifle (which is used against you a couple times)
