Freedoom and HACX parts.

Its meant to be a Bio weapon just like the GES Bio Rifle from Unreal Tournament.

Have some kind of gun that I was making, but kinda gave up. Credit Neccronixis, WildWeasel, Captain J, Kronos, and Xaser.

How IRONIC it is that later on in the games series they end up going to pump action double barrel shotguns (in quake 2 and quake 3). Guess thats a creative itch they just had to scratch. And another irony is that with a nice muzzlebrake and cushion pad a weapon like that would really be practical for urban warfare. With an intimidating boom.

I was upset when the DP12 shotgun came out (google it) and it didn't fire double. Before that I had the idea that two Saiga-12s could be gunsmithed together for a semi automatic double barrel. And could even be legal, by having two triggers with a connector between them. They made a double barrel M1911 after all.

As for how you'd make a military grade version worthwhile to dedicate a firearm to... I always figured the super shotgun in quake 2 was belt fed, and probably the normal machinegun too. No place for tubes or a magazine? Must be belt fed (though they probably didnt care about careful details like those when designing them, certainly not in Q3). And with long wide rounds like shells the belt connectors can be thin, lightweight carbon fiber things and it would be easy enough to push the rounds out if you needed to reload a normal gun.

Practical? There's a reason Halo has an 8 Gauge shotgun, thats like having a double 12. If you're using a shotgun you're trying to kill something, unless you're using those beanbag things. Its for kill or be killed situations, cops use slugs. Body armor wont even help much if you get hit by two 12s, youll be down. As close to a usable .50cal at point blank range as it gets.
