So I tried this patch from the link that was provided and tried running it through gz 4.14.2 and it freezes or soft locks . Had to force shut down gzdoom. Really sucks that I cant run hell rider with latest gzdoom version. Especially some addons have been using latest. I hope the author comes back and updates this to run with latest version
Also, be sure that you're not using that awful "Hellrider Vengeful" version, because that was modified from the original Hellrider without consent nor authorization from Endie/Moa Dixon, and if the "creator" altered parts the code, it's likely that it can interfere on something.

Oh yea. I am fully aware of that and what has been going on. And far as I know it’s still up on another website to download but I don’t use that. But getting back to this patch that was made here what’s the best version to run hellrider because 4.14.2 just won’t work so I gotta jump back to another version ofc

Thats a sad thing to hear! The version I posted as the fix is the one I use personally, and its true to the original other than just ensuring that it works. And thats the thing is that it does work for me on GZD 4.14.2 specifically running on Linux Mint. I can even post a video showing that to be the case, and with monster packs working and just by itself. I have no idea what the problem is, because On my side it has worked from GZD 4.12 clear to the present of GZD 4.14.2.
Demo video. Theres 10 minutes of me on gameplay on 4.14.2 with a monster pack on Doom 2. Console opens in the first 60 seconds showing its GZD 4.14.2. And its on a potato pc.

That warms my little bitty grinch heart 3 sizes. Thank you for the kind words. Been a die hard fan since day one of finding it, and more than happy to do my "Starship Troopers" part.
