Here's my toughts on the new video,im not sure about certain aspect of the re-design.

I dont mind some of the changes,but somehow i find the face/hair a bit more bland than the previous one.

Not sure if this is still Olive or another character,but if this is indeed Olive well i found her original face/hair better,it had more personality,it gave a more bad*ss vibe like she really meant business.

But here,she look not really serious,wich is why i said ''bland''.

That's all i have to say,the rest of this re-design doesnt bother me.

I found she looks less badass as well. Perhaps you should make her face back to original, and i desire nothing else about her.

I'd much rather aim for blandly pleasant than controversial, at least for this project. I'll either replace the face with the old one for the next test vid, or maybe tweak the new one to look less meh :D

There is nothing about that update video (and the new characters) that I don't like. Especially that blonde fellow, he cuts a dashing figure in that purple suit of his.

You know,those sprites remind me a lot of the yeti from 'Ski Free' or Rare mascot 'Mr.Pants.

And about those Deviantart drawings,yup they are great.

You managed to keep the style of the original but without the over exagerated body proportions,good job.

Summon "divinejudgement" to try out the zombieman replacement's alt death :D
also it'd be cool if I could get some feedback on what kind of thing people want to see in the game, just to give me a little direction lol

- Kissing attack is really weak except you grab the berserk. At least it wasn't so weak to against the zombiemans in the vanilla doom. Also it shows up first when starting the game, but at least i still get the ray gun.
- It's weird that only ray gun has OpenGL light effect, don't you think?
- Strawberry Smoothie's sprite doesn't exist in game.
- Love Buster and Positron Wand's love smoke is heavily blocking my sight... Have you ever thought to make them less visible?


Anyway about the feedback...
- I have no idea why you removed tons of weapons, though. I really love the explosive pops and pop launcher. Are you improving them right now? Hope so!
- I say leave the hatred as it is; they definitely describes why hatred is bad thing and determines to purify them all.
- I'd like to see more of the new clothes styles for the enemies! Yeah, graphics doesn't matter, but it would make the game more lively, i guess!
- How about ally system? When you purify someone, they'll eager to fight for you instead of being disappeared but not so often. Smart or not, they would be helpful.


So that's about it. Good luck and can't wait for the finished version!

It's hard to tell at this point, but the kiss is actually a melee weapon. Up close it does more damage than the regular fist. The blown kiss is just for activating switches etc.

Haven't bothered to tidy up all the effects yet, as I'm still adding the weapons :D

That's definately getting fixed at some point (the code is borrowed from an alteration I made to the skulltag minigun)

I might be adding a few new types of hatred, but they'll be keeping their hamburger-helper-esque appearance :D

Each character will be fairly unique. I know it's just a graphical change but 1, it helps to tell the opponents apart in the heat of battle (or rather the heat of friendship, although that sounds kind of steamy)

I've been wondering how to add that without making the game cluttered or too easy, maybe a random death state will do the trick?
