The Projects forums are only for projects. If you are asking questions about a project, either find that project's thread, or start a thread in the General section instead.

Got a cool project idea but nothing else? Put it in the project ideas thread instead!

Projects for any Doom-based engine (especially 3DGE) are perfectly acceptable here too.

Some suggestions:
1. Take pinky demon and lost soul from Phobos867's Add-on.
2. Update Hell Knight and Baron of Hell sprites. Like i see D4D uses first version but Zanieon made 2 updates of his sprites.
3. Take first person death animation from MetaDoom.
4. Take some monsters from Project Brutality (something like zombieman with shield and pistol or zombies with rifle which can drop H.A.R.)
5. Replace ArchVile/Summoner to Flash Wizard from Project Brutality, IMO Flash Wizard fits more than default ArchVile.
6. Take Arachnotron and Spider Mastermind sprites from doom3weapons mod by doomero.
6. Replace backpack to field drone like in Phobos867's Add-on.
6. Take fully animated crosshairs from ZioN mod.
9. Add water, acid and dust effects from Brutal Doom.

No. No Project Brutality. None of those monsters resemble any of the ones from D4. As much as I like Brutal Doom, I don't think it has a place in this mod.

And that "Flash Wizard" is a Flesh Wizard. Though it'd make for an interesting Summoner sprite, it'd be nice if we had one that flew.

Yes, new Pinky please!!! Also new Lost Soul and Revenant sprites please!

And the animated crosshairs from ZION are beautiful. You guys gotta consider using those. :)

Since Doom's 23rd anniversary is next Saturday, are you considering anything special to do with D4D for that date?

I think he's more saying that he'd like the Doom 3 styled zombies in, since the shield ones etc are from that.

No. It's completely unnecessary to the gameplay. It's about killing demons and not dying in the process.

You mean things like Super Doom 3 Take 2? Maybe. After all DBT did remake that mod a long time ago.

Up to DBT, but I personally don't like having field drones -- also field drones are meant for upgrades. Buuuut there's no switching off this menu now.

I don't like borrowing things from other doom 4 mods, unless they are addons made specifically for D4D.

We will never take anything from brutal doom. Ever. And before anyone tries to point out the model tracers, DBThanatos found where they REALLY came from.

I just realized if you use your melee hotkey while you have berserk you don't get double cash from the kill. Why is that? I mean, I assume it's to encourage use of the fist weapon, but what difference does it really make.

Do you have plans to make something with it? IMHO - Default ArchVile colored in red do not fit.

Maybe drone will drop one random upgrade to one of weapon you have for now, for example when you have shotgun and H.A.R. it will be 50% for upgrade for H.A.R. and 50% for upgrade for shotgun. Buuut the longer I think about this idea, the more it seems to me that was bad idea :lol:

You know... I have absolutely no idea. I at first thought people were just calling you that, but then whenever I clicked the Quote button, "smeghead" was the name that was there.

Are you certain you didn't have "smeghead" as your username in the past?

When Major Cooke said "Up to DBT," he meant "Up to DBThanatos"... as DBThanatos is the project leader.

And I don't think it has anything to do with "hating" Brutal Doom... I'm assuming they want to distance their project as far from Brutal Doom as possible so that it can get its own recognition (which it has... beautifully so, if I might add), rather than hitchhiking on the hyperactive Brutal Doom hype-train. Even Brutal Doom has (inevitably) hopped onto the DOOM bandwagon... so borrowing effects from Brutal Doom might bring in some unwelcome company. If it happened, then this topic would soon enough be flooded with a mob of Brutal Doom junkies that want more and more and more compatibility with Brutal Doom to the point that it basically becomes annexed by the Brutal Doom Community and becomes yet another of those sub-mods for Brutal Doom. More of the same cancer. Did I get that right?

Not to say that the end result of a Brutal D4D mashup wouldn't be super awesome, but it would still lose some semblance of originality... even if someone went the hard way and took the D4D monsters themselves and made said monsters Brutal Doom-friendly... (and that'd take way more work than anyone's willing to give right now, am I right?)

That's the forum word filter at work. You can disable that from the User Control Panel.

Guys, what does SSG's Narrowed Cylinders upgrade mean? It just increases the absolute horizontal spread (thus decreasing the effective range of the weapon even more), or it means that the horizontal spread is the same, but vertical one is decreased?
