Since Majhost appears to be gone, what are some comparable image hosting sites?

What kind of maps are you working on now? It may be that you're on unfamiliar ground with a particular concept - I can make a passable Heretic map for instance, but if I tried to make a Doom CTF map I would be out of my depth.

First person to mention "that place" gets thrown down the Sar-chasm, yes?
(Hint: We already know about it. He said "comparable".)
What's weird is that Brickshelf is still running fine. I hope this isn't a funding thing.

Well, looking at our previous discussion, you have Dropbox as well, and you didn't seem to comment on it. What say you?

I like dropbox, but the lack of built in support for hotlinking images is annoying. I know it can hotlink, but it's an extra step that in migrating all of my stuff over could add a lot of time, and I'd hate to migrate over only to find that I could have saved time by using a different host.

Hotlinking is as easy as
https://www.dropbox.com/enable_public_folder enabling a public folder and dropping everything into it, and then just right-clicking on the files and copying the public link.

Note how many
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/631 ... hair1a.png folders that thing is in compared to
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/631 ... rEbArE.jpg while still working just fine.

My most recent thought on the subject was concern over the bandwidth limit for something that is going to be accessed thousands of times a day. But I haven't seen any issues for someone like Blox who uses it quite a lot.

Please use directory structure for organization. AAAAAA.

Ah yes, that's better.

postimg.org Seems to be almost what I'm looking for. I haven't found a way for it to keep the file names, but I've only started looking at it.
EDIT:
postimg wrote:3) How long will images be left on the server?
You can upload unlimited images per post will never have to worry about your images being removed for inactivity.
But then:
postimg somewhere else wrote:Image Removal 6 months with no views
Never mind then.

I've noticed that if I wait for like 1 week while having dry skin somewhere on my body, I can just scratch it away, and a brand-new layer of skin lays under it.
So much for "don't scratch and use shit-tons of lotions!".

Updated some of the icons that I use for Doom related stuff to hi-res versions:
I may update further so that the different file types use different faces.
Or I may not.

ACS files should definitely use the angry grimace.
Also, grin for Decorate. Bloody/dead face (respectively) for BEX/DEH.

Works for me:
I went for the not-quite-so-bloody image for BEX simply because I wanted it to be visually a bit more distinct from the DEAD image than the slightly bloodier one is.

If it were possible to define icons for year ranges you could probably stick barney's face on all the 1994 wads

Corvus face for ACS because it's wizardry.
BJ face for dehacked because it's vintage.

(Can't see well in pic but it's a 3d model.)
Just having some fun with the Text Generator in Milkshape3d(oldbutgold), i can see it's potential as quick quake-style powerup creation, at least for placeholders.
