Boy, did I laugh when we JDAM'ed a radio tower and the enemies near it didn't die.

I get an offer to take an Introduction to Linux course for free mere days after I found out through some research that Linus Torvald is not a man I would willfully work with in a thousand years and is in fact a most exceedingly un-Zen fellow.
Life is strange.

!!! WARNING !!!
If any of you decide to play through the old classic Ultima Underworld... BEWARE OF THE INVENTORY BUG! It's a bug that will just mess up all items in the game, be it in your character's personal inventory, or in the game world. Things inside your backpack will randomly turn into debris or blood splats, contents of another container somehow leaking through all other containers... items dropped on the floor going missing or TURNING into other items... and more! You will permanently lose important quest items this way too! Even the latest patch (that the GOG release provides) does not fix this bug (you will get an error message about "problems in the object list" when you load your saved game, meaning the bug has already permanently manifested itself into your game).
After many hours of immersion, it seems that my saved game was finally hit with this bug. I have found out the cause of this bug - if there are too many items in a level (and these also include decorative stuff placed in the level - sticks, bones, sling bullets generated from the monsters that fire at you, dropped items from a defeated monster, etc), I think what happens internally is that the item list "slot" sort of just wraps around back to the start and then you just end up with junk item data.
So what do you do? I suggest dumping items you don't ever intend to use into bodies of water or lava. This will permanently destroy the item and free up the item slots and keep them in check so things won't get messed up. Very unimmersive and you'll end up with less-cluttered levels (which I thought added to the aesthetics of the game world) but it's the only way to maintain a pristine saved game!
They "fixed" this bug in Ultima Underworld 2 by intelligently purging non-essential items in the game world when the item list is full.

Oh man, Nash, we're so lucky to live in the modern gaming age where stupid game-breaking bugs never happen!!!!
Spoiler: Caution: Rant
I love Steam discussions. Literally 20 threads about the exact same thing because nobody bothers to check past the first page (f at all), not to mention randoms that don't even own the game who drop by just to talk shit about it. Oh, and the folks who encounter a serious bug (of the "unplayable" variety"), instantly assume the developers don't care, and start screaming about getting a "refund" (because they never read the subscriber agreement apparently), only to be told "if you provided any technical information at all maybe we could fix it". Meanwhile the devs are, I'm sure, left wondering if it was such a good idea to offer support through the Steam forum.
I know the ZDoom forum isn't exactly the haven of reason 24/7, but it seems so sheltered sometimes. I wonder if it's an offshoot of "security through obscurity"?
Also, getting really annoyed/worried about Majhost by now. Is there any comparable* (but presumably more reliable) service, or do I have to use Dropbox?
* Subdirectory structure, doesn't butcher the filename.

You didn't really specify what service you want. If it's images, Imgur does the job well, but bear in mind its 225 image limitation for free users.

How many images can I upload?
Infinity. Good luck trying to reach it, you never will.
If for some reason you see a message that says your upload limit has been reached, then make sure you have JavaScript enabled and that you aren't doing anything fishy.

Majhost is an image service. (Hence why my avatar has been blank for more than a week.)
I already know about Imgur and it doesn't impress me, seeing as it completely fails to deliver on both "comparable" points. (I should've just said "not Imgur", but then I'd just have to re-explain why anyway.)

It does, however, pass with flying colours on the "actually works" point.
If subdirectories and filenames are really a sticking point with you, just use Dropbox.

I should've clarified myself, sorry. You can upload an infinite amount of images to Imgur, but only 225 of them are visible at a time. If you want to archive your invisible images in a text file, do so as you please.
Now that I think about it, archiving images that get dumped aside really negates the visibility limit.

Dropbox and Imgur are your only two options here (I don't know many other image/general file hosts that are practical) as far as I can see. Dropbox is ideal for storing any kind of media, but if it's something you want someone to view e.g. a video or an image, you have to snatch the file's URL and then change the www in the URL to dl. That gets tedious.
