Heh, mp3s don't compress in a zip

I'm going to WRITE a new song for you, based on the MP3 you sent me.
I've got some riffs down already. BTW In Flames is f#@king awesome.

Time to plug in my 7 string.
Also; in System, there's a slightly quiter, calmer part. Do you want a similar section like that, or do you want the the track to be pure metal mayhem?
At any rate; I'll play your map and see what suits it. Somehow I don't think the clean part fits.

Good thing I found a good music taste
I kind of expected something like this, after TomD wrote his post, and you asked for the level. Thanks

AAAARGH feck.
You're going to have to send me that mail again, Phobus. Apparently, I haven't signed in to check my e-mail in the past 30 days, which means that not only will they not keep the e-mails I've received from before those 30 days stored, they won't allow any messages sent from before I finally sign back in. In other words, my entire inbox has been cleared out. Bastards...
So every once in a while I have not the time or need to check my e-mail. Least they could do is not rape me for it.

Ok, I'll e-mail the wad to both of you, right now. And I'll sign TDA up whilst I'm here
EDIT: E-mails sent, but I think I might have sent TDA two e-mails. One of them is totally empty. I kind of missed the Insert button and sent it instead. (Go figure

It only sent once, Phobus.

Hopefully you got the right one. If not, it did send twice and you missed the second one, which has the proper e-mail.

Heh, Nash probably deserves to make the song since he has a guitar - I was planning on making some weird In Flames tune too, but using Betrayer's samples from his XMs. Yeah. However, since he's making an In Flames based tune with an actual guitar, I guess I'm not exactly needed.
And System is quite a nice tune - though it does kind of gay up in the middle with that horrible chorus. I perfer the older In Flames myself, and I recommend you get your inspiration from such. It's more flowing and it has less of the quiet, calm parts - that really don't help you fragging all those nasty demons!

Glad to hear it
@TomD: Only album I have is Reroute to Remain, and that blows me off my feet, even now. As far as music goes, they seem to be an untapped resevoir. I've heard of many bands being used, but not these guys.
You are right about the cleaner part. It does slow down the mood a little and doesn't fit the seemingly endless hordes that you fight, but it fit better than my first choice (Cloud Connected), and various other songs from the album. At one point I tried Freefall, can't say that was a particularly good idea

.....THIS MAP ROCKS! One problem though, it caused a huuuuuge slowdown in GZDoom 1.0.04. Maybe you could reduce the monster size or detail a bit?

Well, there is a slight problem there....
As far as detail is concerned, the map is actually quite sparse in many areas, so there isn't all that much I could do, and as the map is only going to get bigger, expect more to come. As for monsters, I'm not sure in that field. I was kind of hoping to get a few more of those in too.
Are you playing with dynamic lights on? Given the way they work, and the number of lamps and torches I have in the level, that would be a killer, especially when you are fighting the out-door area in the brick complex. As I play in .96x on a fairly high end machine (now) I get very little slowdown, though on my old machine certain areas produced a noticeable drop in frame rate.
Is there anything wrong with it other than the slowdown? Also, did you have any ideas concerning a suitable ending? And one final question - Are there any bits that seemed dull compared to others, and any remedies for those situations spring to mind?
Thanks for your quick reply

Hrm. Perhaps somehow that second e-mail was supposed to be sent to me and something happened in the process of you attempting to save it, or something...
Seeing as I don't have it.

Phobus: I haven't finished it yet, but I will soon =P It's just...huge...and laggy.....
