That's some beautiful game you had, if only I knew how to equip my 1st Fire Wand from Tower 1 and use it on those pesky spiders. Sorry, first time in playing that remake game, but I'm familiar with the regular Meen & Chill Manor on DosBox. I followed the installation steps, except in-game instructions are not provided including how to arm myself.
Too bad there's no Youtube video for me to watch from start to finish, the search engine I find got no results, there was one long ago, but I missed it or have disappeared.
Very cool game, but if only there's a way that could remaster the whole game onto Unreal Engine in the future.

I just tried this, and it's awesome! Especially when mixed with brutal doom...

Re: MeenTC: I.M. Meen in GZDoom (v0.9.1)
Hey, I updated MeenTC again, and just in time for Halloween too! It's a rather small update, but it knocks out two (simple-ish) things I wanted to implement into the remake.
Here are the changes:
Here are the changes:
- Battle music and its dynamic system have been properly implemented.
- Compass is now fully functional and shows the player's direction (NOTE: Doesn't work for second player on co-op mode).
- Improved quality for the in-game cutscenes.
- Added a menu where you can select an area.
- Added a new startup sequence.
- Halved the player headbobbing as it was a bit much.
- Greatly reduced the amount of those ugly "fake sky" tiles in the Hedgerow Maze.
- Various other visual improvements and filesize compression methods.

Re: MeenTC: I.M. Meen in GZDoom (v0.9.5 - CUTSCENES!)
Double-posting to let you all know that v0.9.5 of MeenTC is out! You'll have to update to GZDoom 4.14.1 to play it, but for a very good reason...

We got video cutscenes. The thing that made I.M. Meen famous in the first place is finally in MeenTC - fully implemented and functional! There are a couple of minor additions, too, which you can read in the below changelog:

Re: MeenTC: I.M. Meen in GZDoom (v1.0!!)
I don't like to triple-post, but I have a pretty good reason for doing so... v1.0 of MeenTC has finally been released, just in time for its (potential) 30th anniversary on May 21st, 2025!

Thanks to a shadowdrop of code by Melodic Spaceship over on Doomworld, MeenTC now has the scroll-editing mode that made I.M. Meen an edutainment game! All three difficulty levels have been implemented for this mode, and there's even an option to turn it off if you don't want to correct Meen's grammar! In addition, I have optimized the levels to reduce their linedef-and-sector bloat, as well as made several changes to improve parts of the game.
With this update, MeenTC is now feature-complete and plays (nearly) identically to the original game!
The full list of changes can be read below:
