Take a look on quake3 arena or open arena. Or ever risen3d models for doom. Your version seem cool to me

I think you should have options for both, as the original model is what I saw trending on facebook

Maybe the sprites of ultimate doom 3 mod can fit better ok this mod(3d like with smorth animations), because the style of doomguy is 3d like, and zombies still pixel art.

That looks perfect.
Also, are you gonna change the monsters behavior, namely the zombies? I think hitscanners are kind of a bad idea in these melee-centric mods.

how are the icon of sin, the cyberdemon, and the spider mastermind going to be handled? looking at how the icon of sin requires rockets to kill, and the fact that bosses can rip you to shreds in close quarters.

I already want to adapt it to use Legend of Dragoon style comboing and of course adapt
this flash game to Doom using similar techniques.

If you're going to have Gene as a playable character in this mod, then someone had already made a script to extract models from a God Hand ISO, with Gene's mesh already extracted. This might help make it easier to find a good model for Gene.

You kinda can if you play a certain version of Doom Center. LOL. I actually have a video of the admin of a server I played on using the "atatatatatata" puch attack on everyone that came near him. Sends you flying across the whole map. Ah..... Doom Center. Such fun.
