Yep, you got me. Don't wanna argue on the internet about file sizes.Yommiao wrote:Oh, my! What a legitmate response! Nice try circumventing confrontation with facts by childishly posting a GIF!SamuraiSTALIN wrote:

I mean, I.M. Meen is actually a very scary dude, but there's just no way he'd stoop so low so as to live in a house with a grubby naked troll.

Re: The Mansion: Ao Oni
Instead of shoving the WAD file into a PK3, I recommend converting any WAV or MP3 files to OGG, resizing the 1024x1024 textures to 512x512 or 256x256 and the 512x512 textures to 256x256 and passing the PNG files through SLADE's Optimize PNG feature.Yommiao wrote:All right. One of my friends gave me that suggestion and it convinced me due to the fact that the filesize decreased upon doing this, but if you say so, I will change it ASAP.phantombeta wrote:Putting WAD files in the root of PK3 files is VERY bad. Why are you even using a PK3? This mod is literally just a WAD file inside a PK3.
Doing this wastes RAM. You're loading a ~73 MB WAD file into RAM for no reason. Seriously, make the download just the WAD file.
Like, no, seriously. There's a few PNGs there that are around 1 MB.

I don't mean it's a bad mod, I played it over 10 hours, I just mean I got surprised when I opened the ao oni wad and 90% of the wad file size was just two musics.
But that may be a really old version (idk if you started the ao oni mod in zombie horde, because it was the first place I saw it I think)

Um, yeah, always make sure you have the latest version of the mod before you submit criticism. Yommiao has said that issue was fixed.ibm5155 wrote:I don't mean it's a bad mod, I played it over 10 hours, I just mean I got surprised when I opened the ao oni wad and 90% of the wad file size was just two musics.

Would you care to elaborate a little bit more?
Re: The Mansion: Ao Oni
Sure, you're not obligated to like it. But I don't appreciate it when people are too slothful to explain why they're opinionated in a certain way.Trooper 077 wrote:This, is just not fun. Or good
All of the negative comments in regards to this mod were all non-constructive and I can say that without any shame whatsoever. I'm very disappointed in the Doom community.

There was like two negative comments in this thread this far. Don't jump to conclusions so quickly.Yommiao wrote:All of the negative comments in regards to this mod were all non-constructive and I can say that without any shame whatsoever. I'm very disappointed in the Doom community.
Re: The Mansion: Ao Oni
ZDoom is not the only website were I posted an announcement concerning this project, Zandronum and YouTube are also in. Plus, I saw a couple of negative comments while the server of this mod was in its peak.XanderK9 wrote:There was like three negative comments. I wasn't aware it was available on other websites. What kind of negative comments, out of curiosity?

Please don't let a few negative folks color your impression of our entire community.Yommiao wrote:I'm very disappointed in the Doom community.

Ones very similar to Trooper 077's comment.XanderK9 wrote:I wasn't aware it was available on other websites. What kind of negative comments, out of curiosity?
"This mod sucks" "The font stinks" "Worst mod ever" "What a shitty mod" "Why is MR.Game&Watch a character?"
90% of those comments came from random people entering my server, by the way. Yesterday, the server became unexpectedly popular contrary to my belief, and approximately 20 people were playing it. For a moment, is was the secondary most crowded server on Doomseeker, which really felt like an accomplishment. Bus as one can expect, as the popularity rises, the quantity of toxic people will rise as well, and that formed my opinion about the Doom community.
