Wonderful Doom. I enjoyed the remixed maps - they're familiar.. but just different enough. I even did a review on it quite some time back on Realm667.

Back in the day it was UAC_DED1 by Leo Martin Lim. It was where I first saw the possibilities of Doom outside of id style and user made pwads of that era and what I wanted more of from Doom. Since returning to Doom after getting oldered, and although there are what I would consider better, my favourite wad would be Phobos:Anomaly Reborn by Lutz. The first mapset that I played after discovering ZDoom. First impressions are best, I guess!

For level design and overall aesthetics, I have to say Sapphire Station from Tormentor667. But for having a long game of Doom, Wonderful Doom - as mentioned above.

I have to say that I had a lot of fun playing classic wads like Batman Doom, Operation Arctiv Wolf or Cleimos

Hideous Destructor. The weapons function as lethally as they look and sound, and the enemies do too.

Void got mentioned a lot of times here and I have to admit that in times when ZDoom started to grow popularity, Void was unique in terms of map design. I agree with weasel here...
