It is really nice outside today, but they're really isn't anything to do though. I guess I'll stay inside and play some more Doom. Only if I could play Doom outside...

So I was going to rip the music from Touhou 13.5 to add to my collection... and POOF, new extremely obfuscated archive format.

Apparently the only chance of salvation is a foobar2k plugin that can extract music from the pak files, however despite being GPLv2, the part of the code that handles that archive format is not publicly available, all there is is an include line with an offensive-sounding comment above it.

I'm pretty sure that's a GPL violation.

It doesn't work for me in much of anything, either. Aggravating when I'm trying to look up info on my GMod addons. And I know exactly what you mean about crash-happy games.

Oddly, overlay seems to work (or at least I can get achievement popups) in Skyrim when ENB (graphic processing wrapper) is enabled. I also have an nVidia card.

If you find anything on this, I'd be glad to know too.

I've managed to pinpoint the culprit to one of Steam's client updates because the overlay doesn't work for Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 BUT works with Skyrim (vanilla). I also see on several forums that it's a common problem with old Beth games and the new Steam client, but it only affects some users so it's not widespread enough.

With regards to Oblivion, I managed to get around this shit by downloading a custom-made OBSE loader made by someone from Valve (had to scour deep into the depths of the internet to find it!) so at least my modded Oblivion is working again.

It's still annoying that I can't open the overlay to access wikis or chat with people though.

just fought like 6 dragons at once in skyrim... i think it was because of ASIS, but not totally sure.
my first character's at the point where he could just cleave through that with little difficulty, but he's got all the shouts and spells and is decked out in massively overpowered equipment. the character i'm running now? squishy wizard.
i was absolutely NOT prepared for that battle; had to fight dirty and savescum my way through. i won thanks to apocalypse spells; idk if magnetize is in the newest version but it's hilariously effective on dragons. i actually managed to do over 1000 damage with the discharge effect since they like to circle around so high up. i forgot i had that spell until i was scrolling through my spell list looking for something more effective than rain of fire; while that one's good on frost dragons, it's pathetic against the fire ones.

and then i had to slowly walk back to the nearest town since the dragon bones put me way over my weight limit- HAHAHAHAHA JUST KIDDING I'M A FUCKIN' WIZARD TELEPORT SPAM GOGOGO.

Been working on making a copy of the latest version of Hard-Doom Metrood compatible, sorta taking a break on it until I contact can be made with the creator concerning permissions.

Term seemed like he was on board for it, I'm not modifying his mod anyways so permission isn't explicitly needed.

I think I'll go ahead and rework the Mauler. Never liked its alternate mode as a BFG-style weapon. It was overpowered against single targets, horribly unreliable against groups. Might try to combine the theme of the two modes, to make it a good BFG-style weapon that's decent against both.
