Also, the proper download link is STILL not on the first post. I have a feeling people are downloading the wrong version when they come across this thread LOL.

I admit I got a bit confused, I downloaded a v2.1, which had the bak files and the nashgore pk3, but the current version is v2.0. Am I missing something or is this v2.0 the latest and the one we should be getting?

looks like same link to me. bottom of the first post, "Remastered release from 2023 (v2.0):" it takes me to same page. first post was last edited nov 4 at the time of this reply. probably should put the new download above the old download maybe, in case some people are accidentally grabbing the wrong one. or maybe make it pop a little more, bigger text or something i dont know

So I use DoomLauncher, and even after copying over only the .pk3 and .txt file, I keep getting this warning:
Migrate existing configuration
"GZDoom found a user specific config in the game folder"
and these are my options:
-> Move to Users/ folder
-> Convert to portable installation
-> Cancel
I've never ever gotten something like this for any other Doom mod, so really confused here. I don't wanna fuck something up, so if anyone can explain what it's trying to do, I'd appreciate it!

Just grab the .pk3 file and drag and drop it on top of your existing GZDoom install. Don't need to use the bundled GZDoom that came with the TCOTD2 ZIP file.

I rezipped the .pk3 and .txt for Doom Launcher when it was giving that notification, so there was no bundled gzdoom. I assumed it was the mod doing this, but I tried launching GZDoom by itself, and it gave the same notification. So, I just chose "move to users/ folder". I have no clue why it gave that warning or what it did or even what it means by 'user specific config'. Doh.

Hey, I completed the game (on normal) Just wanted to give my thoughts here!
Spoiler:
1) The atmosphere is amazing guys; great job there!
2) The map design and exploration were also good. I had a fun time looking around everywhere for goodies and secrets and clues on what to do next, and the placement of enemies and ammo and health all felt just right.
3) The gameplay was also great; the hp & dmg of monsters, the player's weapons, the pacing, the build-up of the use of moon shelters, it was all awesome!
4) Story was fine; wasn't anything super great or original for me, but certainly not bad! This is to be expected for a Doom mod focused on gameplay, though, so personally no problem there for me.
5) Music and sounds were all very effective! I'd say the only sound that stood out to me as rough-and-ready was the whisper sound effect, the one that's on the main menu; it sounded kinda amateur to me tbh.
6) And finally, the last boss; I beat it on the third try. I definitely see where people had a problem with it, especially on harder difficulties I can imagine, but I thought it was fine. His primary attack felt honestly kind of clever to me, because the cliche of many "big boss fights" basically involves the player strafing around it and spamming weapons until it dies. This one instead requires the player to finesse slight strafes and backpedals around the incoming projectiles, which felt like actual dodging to me rather than mindless running and I liked it. I'm not sure how much RNG is involved in the directions of its projectiles, but I had 5 large and 5 small health packs, so once I got the hang of it, a few hits here and there weren't really a problem for me.
You guys should be proud of your work and I can honestly tell you I very much enjoyed it! Thanks for all the hard work!
Btw, a very, very minor issue: the difficulty screens say "1.5x more dmg" "2x more dmg" etc. Do you guys mean "50% more dmg" and "100% more dmg"? Because "1.5x more" is technically "150% more" i.e. 250% dmg. Might want to reword that because it might confuse some players into thinking the difficulties are harder than they actually are.
And everyone's favorite complaint: grammar!
In the 'survivor's letter':
"sieze" -> "seize"
In the 'book of thamuz':
"...and his puppets will fall control the puppet-master, and his puppets thou shall command." -> "...and his puppets will fall; control the puppet-master, and his puppets thou shall command." (also, might be "thou shalt command" but I'm not sure)
I'm sure you guys already caught these, but just in case.
Also, I learned that the Brits use "to hand" as opposed to "at/on/in hand". Was going to add that as a correction too, but google saved me from that mistake
Anyways, one final comment/question: I've never seen that weird parallax texture effect in anything before. What is that? It looked really fucking awesome! Is it some kinda new feature of GZDoom or something? Does it sort of work like brightmaps, where the 3d effect increases or decreases depending on how you shade the overlay or something? Is it a time-consuming task?
