Eh, I've made a handful of posts so far, so I figured, "Hey! Why not ramble about my story with DOOM along with talking a little bit about myself?"
Spoiler: My story with DOOM
My first experience with DOOM was DOOM 64 on the Nintendo 64, I remember it scaring me to the point where I had nightmares for a couple of weeks after first playing it. A handful of years later, I found a flash version of DOOM on some site, which lead to me buying my very own copy of DOOM 1 and 2, only to find out that it wasn't able to run on my computer. A couple of google searches later and I end up downloading Skulltag just to play it. One thing led to another and I end up stumbling across Brutal Doom, which gave me a lot of bad vibes, but I ignored them and played it anyways. It basically made me desensitized to seeing gore, which is the only "good" thing to come out of it. I also found it to be way too easy for my preferences, which resulted in me getting used to playing DOOM on Ultra-Violence instead of Hurt Me Plenty. Thankfully, I simply deleted Brutal Doom off my hard drive after a while and only really downloaded it again to cringe at it.
Skip ahead a year or two and I come across Reelism, which basically made me switch from using Skulltag/Zandronum to using GZDoom to play DOOM. After a while, I got curious about just how easy it is to mod DOOM, which lead to me finding these forums. My very first attempts at modding were painfully bad, so I pretty much gave up. I did, however, end up lurking these forums as a guest for a while, mainly lurking the projects section to download mods that are within my interests.
Skip ahead to a couple of months ago, where I get the idea to try my hand at making maps for DOOM. My very first attempt at mapping resulted in a map with an entire room that crushes the player when they try to open a door, which was entirely unintentional but it was pretty hilarious. Fast forward to now, and I'm working on a remake of sorts of all the maps from DOOM 2. I'm also tinkering around a little with decorate, so far I've made an "improved" shotgun that simply kicks back a little when firing and tilts the screen a little when pumping, I don't really plan on releasing it seeing as 90% of the script comes from a tutorial I found with a google search. I don't plan on making anything too complex with DOOM, but hopefully everything I make will at least bring a little bit of joy to anyone who witnesses it.
Spoiler: A little bit about me
I suffer from depression and I have issues with anxiety, but I try my best to not let it affect me. Aside from that, I have a little bit of experience with things like meditation, astral projection, witchcraft, and stuff like that. I already mentioned it in another thread, but I am otherkin. I also believe in past lives and I happen to remember some of mine. I honestly don't want to go into too much detail about any of those two things because of personal reasons, but feel free to send me a PM here or take a wild guess at what my Skype name is and contact me about it there.
Now, for the actually interesting bits. I play video games basically every day, though I prefer using a computer instead of a console because a keyboard and mouse feel a lot more comfortable than a controller for most games. My favorite game series include Counter-Strike, DOOM, Serious Sam, Payday, and Burnout. I'm also loving Splatoon, which is unique and perfect in every way to say the least. I also have a little bit of experience with making stuff using Unity, though I haven't really done anything too serious with it yet.
As for personality, I try my best to be respectful and I also try to care for everyone. I honestly just want everyone to be happy, even if it's at my own expense. I'm pretty laid back, honestly. Aside from all of that, I do have a sense of humor and I do play around every now and then, so no, I'm not a hug machine that can use a keyboard!
