I've seen a lot of people recommending Firefox and telling me how much it pwns IE.

I downloaded it over a year ago and gave it a good try. I was conscious of the fact that trying a new piece of software means you are trying something unfamiliar and there is a natural resistance to something new, especially when you know it should do something but you can't find out how. So, after a reasonable trial and a pretty fair go, I really can't see what all the fuss is about. It's really not that good. It's not bad, but it has its quirks and problems just like any other piece of software and, on balance, I find IE a better tool for browsing the internet.

Well, the only reason I prefer Firefox over IE is because of the tabs(I'm normally on 5 sites at once; having it on one browser makes the taskbar much less cluttered) and the fact that it just goes faster for me than IE. My 56k kinda severely limits the amount of things I can do at once, obviously.

Otherwise, I'd still use IE.

The main reason for me was protection against attacks specifically directed at IE users. That alone should be enough. And I like the bookmark handling better.

Nonexistent. There's no need to add more at this stage since The One Randy is currently incorporating the 2.0.96x stuff into 2.1.0. Adding stuff would delay the release of 2.1.0

What do you want with it? AFAIK the only difference beteen 7.8 and 8.8 are minor bug fixes.

why don't you just update to a new version? then people wouldn't get confused.

I wonder when it was that I stopped watching this topic or whatever. But in any case I'll slink back into the darkness with nothing to contribute to this thread...
