What irks you that you see some Doom players do?

If you don't get the above, basically the security armor can only be picked up below 100 armor, but sets your armor to 100 when picked up. So picking up armor beforehand is wasted.

not that 2 points of green armor are going to do much for you (and there's a blue armor in the secret anyway)

It almost feels like a test, if not a taunt - o ye of little faith, did you not know that the mapper will provide?


Also, on topic:

Needlessly scrolling past many weapons to get to a specific weapon instead of using those perfectly reasonably placed number keys.

Attacking monsters that are in the middle of an infight and are not only not posing a threat but are actively helping you in that capacity. Well, were. [Excusable if hitscanners are fighting non-hitscanners and you're just destroying whatever you are least able to dodge later]

SSG on cyberdemon. This is not a rational game-mechanic irk at all. I do it myself, and it's the most obvious rational choice, but it just feels so wrong to watch... and intellectually understanding that this is more efficient than a rocket launcher duel just makes it worse. (Even the box art is against me on this, I know. This is more of a confession than a polemic. I do not desire any enabling of this vice.)

Speaking of vices, anyone else have this habit that crops up rarely of running into projectiles that you already dodged, or projectiles that weren't meant to hit you until you actively moved into them for some reason? It's like a weird combination of impatience to move somewhere mixed with a rapidly shifting attention span.
Makes me go "wtf dude" at myself.

I do that WAY too much. I side step out of cover when I think everything is safe but it clearly isn't and then die in one hit. I run away from revenants/arch-viles only to run into other enemies instead. I've accidentally killed myself via rocket launcher trying to clear big groups. Sometimes even Lost Souls love to join in the fun!
EDIT: Also, deaths by cacodemons that you thought were dead but aren't as well. I forget they have a melee sometimes too.

I should get around to writing that mod where the objective is to catch every projectile and you lose health every time one hits a wall...

Ah, yes, this is a common occurrence for many players. We typically refer to such instances as Partial Invisibility. :P

Partial Invisibility would be better if it reduced monsters' chance to attack, instead of making them randomly attack at different angle.
