intersession class for first semester of higher education
my counselor advised strongly against, but a parent is trying to push me into taking one - is there a particular difference between the regular and intersession classes? i imagine they're accelerated, but i'm not certain.

If by "intersession" you mean a class between semesters, then yes, they tend to go a lot faster than regular classes, and can actually be a bit stressful if you have got anything else going on.

I wouldn't advise it for your first semester. You already have enough things to get used to in your first few courses, and accelerated courses like that are really hard to catch back up if you fall behind.
