Right now it's all just ideas and such so I'm doing a bit of sprites, music, maps and all to have something not imaginary to share when I announce the project. Here's the very first frames I've done for a few things, and the first real sprite work I've ever actually done. How am I going?

Here's the player. The one on the left is the "finished" sprite while the one on the right was the original one I made. The shading was off though and I couldn't make it work which is why I changed to the darker design. Also you couldn't survive in space if your arms were exposed. :P On the flip side, the pants and underarmour could be colourable for a possible multiplayer version of the player sprite?

Here's the draft front frames for the Alien Worker and Alien Chomper. I created a very basic creature in SPORE, then took a screenie and drew over it to get the result seen below. Great because my proportions are terrible by themselves.

Below is the security pistol (replacing the Doom pistol) I took a snapshot of one of my NERF dart guns and am currently in the works of drawing over and polishing it up. There's a revolver chamber visible on the left side of the gun which I plan to edit out, since it's magazine fed.

Those are really interesting, they reminds me of 90's TCs. Of course!

My Jaruska (see pic in my last post) and that would make a dreadfully great jumpscare team...

Also, considering the Jaruska Hiro Sprite I made, I was able to do a (un)fortunate Rework of an HD Jaruska, using photofiltre, so if the sprite doesn't make sense, here... is... pic

WARNING, MIGHT BE DISTURBING.

You've done well disguising the fact that that's a toy gun :D I tried doing something similar and it ended up looking like Doomguy was running around waving a toy gun at the demons :P

Haha thanks. I haven't starting shading whatsoever so hopefully I'll be able to get rid of that 'window into the middle of space' atrocity of dithering. I still need to define details and really make it pop as an authentic looking gun. I do not look forward to making up reloading animations...

I'd like to see it more polished, like this one for example! It look so flawless in doom graphic.

A bit of jaggies on the reload frames' edges, but otherwise looks alright. It'd need some extra barrel thickness, though.

Eyes, now that'll work. Except the rear part is too darky.

Also i've fixed your elephant gun. It looks so thin because of perspective, i guess!

Thanks :D
How's this?

I also replaced the hand, and added a red spot to the sight (imo it looks it'd work well in The Trooper)

Credits to zrrion the insect and me
I might post the complete set if I ever bother to actually add a decent muzzle flash for this.

My, that looks pretty, can I use the above as reference for continuing work with this weapon? My pixel skills are amateur to say the least since my forte is more likely to be music than anything else.

Credits, of course :)

Also now that I think about it, this in a way reminds me of the pistol sprite from Marathon.

Cool! :D Looks like a gas-fed machine gun or a flamethrower! Is it for any particular project?

No, not really. I really don't do projects, I usually just edit a few sprites, throw them in a pk3, plan to publish it, lose motivation to finish, and repeat.

Awesome :D.

Image
Goes more in line with the player's environment suits having 'rubber' gloves and boots (realistically that'd be a bad choice but hey, should help you clean the alien mess up :P)

Looks neat, but rear part is still darker. And sometimes, you need to brighten the sprite up and replace some darker parts. Like this!

Now can you see the rear part clearly? That's what i'm talking about!
