For me the main interface to my computer is Total Commander, so the desktop is hidden all the time. The start menu is essential in such a setup because it's the quickest way to start installed applications. Of course, the ones I regularly use are pinned to the taskbar.
For the start menu I use Classic Shell and that won't change when I upgrade to Win 10.

Wow, I never actually realized you can change it around. I'm actually liking this a lot better now:Kinsie wrote:*start menu*

that seems really useful. i need to toy around with the start menu at some point, and make it filled with not-crap.

What's even better is that you can change the icon size by right clicking, making the start menu less obtrusive.

(a little bump)
Aplogizes for that, but I use Avast to get rid of it. It removed the whole hard-drive, so the LENOVO and OS drives are intact.

you can do that by restarting your computer and going into the setup mode and disable the drives that you don't have.

Please DO NOT DO THIS if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing! This has potential to make your machine unbootable.BFG wrote:you can do that by restarting your computer and going into the setup mode and disable the drives that you don't have.
