The underlined text implies I could have made a new map and then submitted. It's too bad, I only just gotten back into GZDoom Builder.

Double post because HYPE

ONE MORE DAY, GUYS!

Edit: And apperently, Laggy Blasko was right, Evil Marines are Nazi replacements for maps that aren't Doom 2's Map 31. I think it's probably the case with Project Brutality but I never tested it, so here's the video where I found that out.

I guess this is the final version of Throughfare (MAP32): http://stuff.veekun.com/eevee-dump2-v5.pk3

Didn't change much (been super busy!), just fixed a tiny bug and one or two microscopic cosmetic issues.

I had a lot of thoughts on the experience so I wrote a boatload of commentary, if you're into that. https://eev.ee/blog/2016/03/31/i-made-a-doom-level/

.oO( So is DUMP 2 a gigawad, then? )

It's the cutoff day, not the release day. Release will probably be on, like, the 21st or 22nd, barring sickness and/or hard drive failure and/or an act of God. :P

I know I've been a little quiet recently and I've been saying this a lot, but great work, everybody. Even if I've been overwhelmed by the sheer number of applicants, every single one is precious to me. Every single map has been someone trying something new and working hard to make something. Whether it turns out wonderful or whether it turns out kind of meh, you're all pretty cool for pushing against the barrier to put it out.
Making stuff is fun. Welcome to the club. Hope to see all y'all making more stuff.

Oh darn, I've been very busy lately so I haven't finished reviewing everything. I hope there's no problem if I post my reviews after the official release.

An act of God?

But seriously, I can't wait to get the final version. Then I think I'll start with the contra doom patch.

You know, a catch-all phrase used by insurance companies to cover any random natural disasters like earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, fires, volcanic eruptions, demon invasions, etc. that they didn't already explicitly mention.

Wait, when did this become an Off-Topic Christianity discussion? Well, I guess in a day TerminusEst13's going to release the final build where we talk about that.

Well, here's something my dad told me. Apperently there was no mention of Hell or reincarnation in the Old Testament.

So, it's over. DUMP 2 is over.

It's been pretty fun, even though I took so damn long to finish my map. I can't wait to see what the next one has in store! :)

Aaaand it's out. First post updated.
Fucking finally. Almost two months of work. I have a newfound appreciation for community project organizers.

It was a thrilling ride, from start to finish. It was fun, and a nice learning experience for all of us. Lots of folks learned how to map. I learned things to do differently (have a more efficient update system, keep track of what's changed for changelogs in additional test builds, HAVE A CAVEAT FOR IF I GET 192481-23 MAPS). And deep down inside, we all learned how to love, a little more.
For the folks that mapped, pat yourself on the back. Good or bad, making something is always worthy of celebration.

For the folks that want to play, well. Have fun.
