Didn't ZDoom get the Z because it has a functioning Z-axis in its coordinates system, unlike regular DooM, thus allowing the room over room effects and other whatnot?

That's not even correct. It already existed in Doom and is blatantly observable in a lot of places, or how else do you explain projectile collisions, the archvile attack, and most of all raised platforms.

Plot Twist: The Z is just an typo accident Randi had when was going to name the Source Port in Visual Studio (if that was used to create it, i dunno).

I always remember ZDoom GL which came before GZDoom, and it made all the graphics blurry.
