@Weasel: Somehow I get the feeling there's a language barrier that prevents him from grokking precisely what you are saying---although that wouldn't explain some of his other offenses.

You have to understand that its not as simple as credit giving. Its not as easy as using snippets of others code here and there, you're doing what essentially is a complete rerelease of an author's product with your additions. Its like the countless brutal doom extra mods.

I can tell you from heart that its basically the mod equivalent of tracing someone's other art. A lot of people do it and its rampant in the art industry. Its not a reference to make your own product. Basically, ya should of honored the creator's request after they had stated they dont want this to happen. You know better.

I was going to make a patch that replaces repetitve voices, sounds, and text...
but i don't think that WildWeasel will approve...

All I've ever wanted was to be asked for permission first. Ideally, you could actually report the issues to me and I can see about making the changes to the master branch, instead of there being patches and mods everywhere.

I think most people are used to mod authors who violently oppose criticism and making minor changes by request to their mod, so they don't think to just ask nicely first :P

Also it's fun as heck to play around with the code of something you like, so there's that.

It's been some time since I played this mod (didn't even try the update that made the experience system optional, too long I know) but one thought occurred to me just now; is there any way to upgrade hand grenades without an experience system? As far as I know it's only possible to use the IBEX upgrade kit on whatever you have equipped; and hand grenades are only used at the press of a button rather than equipped.

Currently, hand grenades are the one thing that can't be upgraded with an item. I had to add a special item to do it to the Taser; maybe if I get in the mood to work on this again, I might make the apron-bombers drop a rare pack of grenade parts.
