I noticed this while browsing through the source.
In P_MorphPlayerThink the decision whether to handle chicken or pig is made on the game being played. Chicken is only handled when the game is Heretic. If I see this correctly it is not possible to morph a player in Doom into a chicken without causing problems. Shouldn't this decision be made on the actor's type not the game being played?
Update: P_ActivateMorphWeapon has the same problem.

Why not? I'm a programmer myself and love analyzing stuff like that...
Besides, I had a cool idea about a morphing trap in Doom but it wasn't possible due to this...
