Welcome to the forums, Arachnotron. It would probably be a good idea to read the Project Posting Guidelines - do you have anything done of your project that you could show us?
If you need help writing a script, perhaps you could also ask in the Editing forum.

I have just added a sprite I can show. These are Aztec stationary monsters.wildweasel wrote:Welcome to the forums, Arachnotron. It would probably be a good idea to read the Project Posting Guidelines - do you have anything done of your project that you could show us?

Re: My doom mega wad
Looks cool overall, could use a little extra pillow shading on the enemy itself, plus darker/more textured blood. Right now it looks like the blood is just pasted on, not actually flowing over the surface of the monster.

Yeah. That's the problem with ms paint. You have a hard time with shading. It is a cool program though. I have another enemy I am working on.Caligari_87 wrote:Looks cool overall, could use a little extra pillow shading on the enemy itself, plus darker/more textured blood. Try Paint.Net. It's my go-to program for anything sprite related. If you need something more in depth, a lot of people would recommend Gimp. Both are free and worth a try!

Re: My doom mega wad
I would desaturate the monster heads a little more.
Here's an example of a polished-up version. I shaded around the eye sockets more to give it depth, gave shading to a rope, make the hook alittle darker and tinted with a dark red, and desaturated it to give it a 'dead' look.
And right now, they don't look scary enough to me (in order to be a threat, it has to be menacing!)Caligari_87 wrote:...could use a little extra pillow shading on the enemy itself, plus darker/more textured blood. Right now it looks like the blood is just pasted on...

For spriting I'd highly recommend using Paint.Net (http://www.getpaint.net/) for spriting, it's absolutely wonderful. I would not use GIMP at all for sprites, you'd spend more time trying to figure out the UI than you would actually doing anything.Lippeth wrote:Try Paint.Net.
