What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
A great aspect of this song is the bass at 0:56 and such.
Re: What are you listening to?
Pantera is the majority of Doom's soundtrack
But I prefer Alice in Chains tbh

Re: What are you listening to?
Majority? Lol, I only know of This Love. Some people even went as far as thinking MAP01 was Pantera. It's sped up Megadeth.LostSkull wrote:Pantera is the majority of Doom's soundtrackBut I prefer Alice in Chains tbh
Re: What are you listening to?
No, E1M1 is Metallica - No Remorse.undead003 wrote:Majority? Lol, I only know of This Love. Some people even went as far as thinking MAP01 was Pantera. It's sped up Megadeth.LostSkull wrote:Pantera is the majority of Doom's soundtrackBut I prefer Alice in Chains tbh
EDIT: Oh, you meant Doom 2... My bad.
Re: What are you listening to?
E1M1 is generic rock music, so it sounds kinda like a dozen different songs but is an exact match to none of them. It's merely very generic.

It's a super generic riff used by dozens of people.Exactly which song "At Doom's Gate" is based on has been disputed. Usually suggested are Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and "No Remorse". It is also possible that the song is based on a sequence in "The Family Ghost" by King Diamond (the part can be heard approximately 2:15 into the song). Slayer's "Behind the Crooked Cross" at 1:08 and Blackmayne's "Twilight Of Lear" from their 1985 LP Blackmayne is also possible. The riff, almost verbatim, is also featured in D.R.I.'s "Hooked" from their 1987 LP Crossover and Aria's "Это рок" (English: "This is Doom" or "This is Fate") from their 1985 debut album Мания Величия (English: Megalomania).
