I didn't see these on the list, but these two are pretty much in my autoload all the time (unless they conflict with other WADs/mods or don't work with other WADs/mods):

Bumpity-boo again. TDAFSHUD v2 has been updated again, mostly fixing minor idiocies in the mod specific HUDs that I somehow missed. Link the same as before.

Re: [Autoload] Must-haves (now with full list!)
Widescreen Status Bar graphic
(is a graphic replacement only so should be compatible with any other custom HUDs)
(Also adds 1px black border to bottom to eliminate the yellow HOM line on certain resolutions)

Re: [Autoload] Must-haves (now with full list!)
I'm all about vanilla-but-improved, and have slowly built up autoloads around this.
[Doom.Autoload]
Path=.\doomshared\lights_nashgore_altdeath_weapports.pk3
Modified lights.pk3 that gives light definitions to the nashgore monsters and the new player entity used by Perkristian's smoother weapon animations.
Path=.\doomshared\sbrightmaps.pk3
Z86's better brightmaps
Path=.\doomshared\glowflats.pk3
A collection of glowing flats; I forget if I made this or modified someone else's. Update: Someone asked for it, so here it is.
Path=.\doomshared\pk_doom_sfx_20120224.pk3
Perkristian's high-resolution Doom sound effects. Very nice, yet super-vanilla.
Path=.\doomshared\nashgore.wad
Nash's Gore Mod. More gore, nothing too absurd.
Path=.\doomshared\altdeathtest.wad
Ghastly's Alternate/Gib Deaths for Stock Doom Monsters. Blends very well with vanilla.
Path=.\doomshared\voxel_test.pk3
Voxel items, with rocket orientation fixed.
Path=.\doomshared\midisoundfonts.pk3
Gez's MIDI Soundfont Menu mod. Easily change soundfonts on the fly via the menus.
Path=.\doomshared\femdoom.pk3
Lynn Forest's FemDOOM. Pretty excellent female player face, best one I've seen. I assembled a solid custom sound pack too using pieces from other games/mods.
Path=.\doomshared\watershader.pk3
Simple wavy shader effect for water flats.
[Doom1.Autoload]
Path=.\doom\default\titlepix_d1.pk3
High-res titlepic, not sure source.
Path=.\doom\default\d1spfx13.pk3
Revenant100's Doom 1 Minor Sprite-fixing Project.
Path=.\doom\default\pk_anim1_d1.pk3
Perkristian's Smoother Weapon Animations (improved version by NightFright).
Path=.\doom\default\nc_custom_hud_v1.12 for pk_anim1_d1.pk3
Blue Shadow's NC HUD 1.12. Edited for compatibility with Smoother Weapon Animations and to remove version number, move key display.
Path=.\doom\default\splash3d1.pk3
Simple water splashes, edited to work with Doom 1. Link seems dead.
Path=.\doom\default\d1demos.pk3
I wanted to record demos that actually worked with GZDoom, but they keep breaking when I upgrade the source port.
[Doom2.Autoload]
Path=.\doom2\default\titlepix_d2.pk3
High-res titlepic, not sure source.
Path=.\doom2\default\sprfix13.pk3
Revenant100's Doom 2 Minor Sprite-fixing Project.
Path=.\doom2\default\pk_anim1.pk3
Perkristian's Smoother Weapon Animations (improved version by NightFright).
Path=.\doom2\default\nc_custom_hud_v1.12 for pk_anim1_d2.pk3
Blue Shadow's NC HUD 1.12. Edited for compatibility with Smoother Weapon Animations and to remove version number, move key display. (Come to think of it I may not need separate versions for D1 and D2.)
Path=.\doom2\default\splash3.pk3
Simple water splashes. Link seems dead.
Path=.\doom2\default\d2intermission.pk3
Skunk's Doom 2 Intermission Map (test version). Nice little addition.
Path=.\doom2\default\NRFTL+.wad
...And a No Rest for the Living compilation.
I use two batch files to swap between this default mod loadout and a smaller, much more strict "vanilla" mod set for use with large mods that conflict with the above.
Sometimes I'll autoload other things when the mood strikes:
pal_plus.wad for darker colors
psxmusic.wad for PlayStation music
AMMO2.deh is a deHacked patch I made that reduces the amount of ammo gained from items.
Ransu's Remastered Game Music
I also really like Z86's Particle Fire Enhancer's fancy graphics but not its revamped sound effects (footsteps!).
Lookin' forward to Reinchard's high-resolution texture project bearing fruit.
I use a smaller but similar list of mods for Heretic. Higher-quality SFX, widescreen weapons/status bar, high-res textures, etc.

Mind if I ask you to post this? I've wanted a decent sound set to go with that mugshot for a while.Alexandra wrote:Path=.\doomshared\femdoom.pk3

EDIT: Back on topic, the following
Spoiler:It always feels horrible to go back to vanilla or wads that keep the old height, everything is scaled correctly now!

Re: [Autoload] Must-haves (now with full list!)
I was a bit iffy about posting it because I didn't track where I got the sounds, and the files are embedded into a copy of Mike12's revyskin.wad. But ah well, here you go. Please note I'm not trying to take credit for the skin or creation of the audio. I just replaced a few of revyskin's default sounds to be more to my liking.Vaecrius wrote:Mind if I ask you to post this? I've wanted a decent sound set to go with that mugshot for a while.
That all said, I like that this edited set has a lower voice than usual. Some may not like that the wall-using sound is the same as the jumping sound, but I think it's okay. I like that it doesn't sound sexual when spammed, unlike most dsnoway sounds included with female skins.
For a ready-made non-hackjob I recommend st_illucia.wad. Has a higher voice though.

Re: [Autoload] Must-haves (now with full list!)
Awesome, thanks!
EDIT: For some reason I can't get any sounds out of the Illucia wad. I've just spent all evening trying to compile SLADE to no avail and DEUTEX doesn't work either, so would anyone know what the problem might be?
In other news I'm just about to replace my "eyes up here" DECORATE with this:

I think the Smoother weapons animations could be replaced with this link, as the link in the original thread is dead.
